I say, take all this energy that you was going to put into this lawsuit in prayer and fasting, seeking the FACE and FAVOUR of GOD for accomplishing such a work as HE has called you for. But who am I to express my thoughts. Serve your MASTER as you will BROTHER. I would hardly have any involvement in the case. My lawyers would be doing that. Though I would have to do press things and be in court a bit.

You have asked the board for our opinions on this, and I have given you my understanding according to scriptures. Matthew 5:42-48, "Give to him that asketh thee, and from him that would borrow of thee turn not thou away. Ye have heard that it hath been said, Thou shalt love thy neighbour, and hate thine enemy. But I say unto you, Love your enemies, bless them that curse you, do good to them that hate you, and pray for them which despitefully use you, and persecute you; That ye may be the children of your Father which is in heaven: for he maketh his sun to rise on the evil and on the good, and sendeth rain on the just and on the unjust. For if ye love them which love you, what reward have ye? do not even the publicans the same? And if ye salute your brethren only, what do ye more than others? do not even the publicans so? Be ye therefore perfect, even as your Father which is in heaven is perfect." But brother, it is only my opinion. You shall do as you have faith in your MASTER. I am no one to give advice to you. I hope all goes in the will of GOD for you and that you are blessed by it and all you touch are blessed.

Please do not feel the need to justify your actions towards me nor any other man. Only towards GOD.

I hope all goes in the will of GOD for you and that you are blessed by it and all you touch are blessed. These are the verses that give me the most reservations. Also, please I meant no ill will towards you... I know tone is very difficult to communicate in writing. I also highly value your opinion, thoughts, scriptures... I didn't want to insinuate that you don't understand the system or anything either... I see that that could have come across wrong, not my intent. I agree that God's opinion is ultimately what matters. I can see scriptures for going in either direction... though I really I only understand how one direction works (the law suit)... I am not even sure what going in the other direction looks like (assuming pleading guilty is not an option) You know what I'm saying? I appreciate all the advice brother. Blessings, Miles

The system is very corrupt. Personally I see no problem with using courts to right a wrong. That is the intention......I'm sure Miles that after searching your heart and being in prayer that whatever decision you make will be the right one.
I say let the attorney file a suit and then donate the money if you win any. I think it would be wrong not to defend yourself both criminally and also in the area of maintaining constitutional rights on public property. I don't know a awful lot about your case. Mine is still going on and despite having all the criminal charges dropped long ago.........I'm still fighting via my grievance. However that is nearing an end.......its a game and legal jockeying and you have to call their bluff. I know the battle can be very stressful...hang in there.

Not to keep harboring on this.
Let me share a testimony that happened years ago. I preached in many public places back then, one place I went twice weekly. Well I did so for about a month at one place until a woman who was the administrator came to me and told me I could not come back. She was quite rude about it. It stunned me because I seen fruit there from the LORDS work.
I did not argue the fact, I did not go back there again. I told THE LORD it was in HIS HANDS. I did not understand but HE was in charge. About 4 years later, in my job position with Rural Development and the elderly, I was approached by this same woman administrator and she asked if I would go and speak to a group of people that she was administator of. This was done at a hotel conference room and the croud consisted of about 3,500 to 4,000 people. I gave the GOSPEL MESSAGE. For about 5 years she had me come to these meetings and present a message to these people.
It cost nothing from my pocket. They put me up in the hotel for free and purchased all my expenses. I have been asked before if I take up offerings to preach the GOSPEL. I tell them that I do not and that I feel like paying the people to hear me preach at times.
So you see, when put in the hands of GOD, HE does things that we of ourselves cannot accomplish.

I respect your convictions. I wouldn't take anything out of the Lords hands. He gave us the court system.........somehow your equating fighting a court battle with being in the flesh and thats not how I see it.

Ok, today I decided to go ahead with the civil suit. Thank you all for your prayers and input. If I had not been arrested I am not sure what I would be doing at this point. Because the only option seems to be to use a civil suit to ensure due process I am going with that. I have wrestled with it but I see this a freedom that is unique to our country and the Constitution and the founders of this country even encourage the people to see that the law of the land is upheld in this manner. If there was another way to appeal to ceaser I would do it I believe. As far as biblical example to follow I look to Paul in Acts 23 when he challenged the legality of his punishment in front of the council. He asked if it was lawful for them to beat a Roman uncondemned and also accused them that they sat to judge him after the law and yet commanded him to be struck contrary to the law. I see my case in a similar fashion. In order for me to make that same type of claim the forum for that is a civil suit. While I am not looking for anyone to get rich and especially not myself, I will not be keeping for myself any of the money that could be awarded to me. I see it only as fair however that when an entity unlawfully brings me to trial and I am guiltless of a crime that the false accusers pay for legal defense of myself as would normally be ruled in these types of cases. I am looking forward to listening to the Spirit's voice and looking for opportunities in which to bless my enemies and curse them not. Though they have done me wrong, I wish them no harm. I pray that the officers who made the arrest get a raise, but I also pray that school system is shown that free speech and free excercise of religion must be upheld and that this campus get completely open up for the Gospel.
Blessings,
Miles

The campus is Onondaga Community College. This has no bearing on preaching at Edinboro... only the weather is stopping us there. I would still love to make it down to College of Charleston after Thanksgiving... That could be my favorite campus to preach on.

If you go to Charleston Thanksgiving week, I would love to join you for the first part of the week, Monday and Tuesday, maybe Wednesday. I doubt I could make the week after though . We are praying for your case and believe you are doing the right thing. Grace and Peace, Joe

Charleston, SC, Brian... Sorry, not heading to West VA.
It is looking like the week of Dec. 3 in Charleston... you know lets just call it an OAO conference for fun. But I take this campus very seriously... there will only be a high caliber of preaching allowed.
No nonsense.

By the way, what standard are you using to determine whether someone is "high caliber" or not? ;D
