Messenger Micah, It seems sometmes that we have reversed the order of study. We read a book on something and then use the book to find the scriptures and put the scriptures in the light of the book. I have done it, and thank God he has convicted me on this issue. You may not like my attitude, but attitude really has no bearing on internet message boards because we write how we talk and we talk with tones in our voices that reveal what we mean. If I were to write to you on this board that "you are a liar because you have broken the ninth commandment" that would sound judgemental. However, if I were to say that same thing in a face to face conversaton wtih a tone of love, it would take an entirely ifferent meaning. My point is this, when I say that, as you would say, "I follow Jesus not Calvin of Wesley" you would be right. I do follow Jesus not Calvin and Wesley. However, Calvin and Wesley can guide you and maybe help bring into perspective the harder truths. But they cannot ever take the place of scripture.
Oh and your misinterpreted what I said, what I meant is this, Calvinists think Arminienists are a carnival show, and Arminienists think Calvinists are a carnival show. I didnt mean everyone is a carnival show but me. I dont know how you got that in the first place.

Evan,
I do not know your attitude nor did I say I did not like your attitude. My point was if we are having a doctrinal debate on this board over issues that are points of Calvinistic or Arminian theology, and then you come on and make a statement like the one you made, it comes across that everyone is following Calvin or Arminian but you are following Jesus.
I believe you are following Jesus, but I also believe the people on this board are also endeavoring to follow Jesus and not a system of theology or doctrine.

Well Spurgeon disagreed with Finney in theology so we know that Spurgeon was off in his view of God. However in spite of his wrong views on God and theology I do believe that Spurgeon was actually saved and God was able to use him. How does that come across?

Evan,
Here is what I wrote:
This may not be the way you meant it but that is the way it sounds. "Everyone else is following someone else but I alone am following Jesus." Remember out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaks. It is good to examine yourself on this. You have other posts that hint of this same attitude. "Everyone on this board quotes other people...I get my revelations from God..." I have noticed in most of your posts you also quote people.
You are right in that I did use the word attitude, but did not say I didn't like your attitude. I said that some of your posts come across with the attitude that everyone else is wrong but you are right. Now I do not think you really think that. It is the way it sounds. If you are fine with that then I am fine with it also. I may however respond in a way that shows how I see your post is being communicated (as I have done in the past).
