OK, here's the situation:
A preacher is being harassed by some drunk hecklers, and another preacher steps in to block, allowing the first preacher to continue. In the process, the drunk hecklers attack and batter the second preacher, knocking him to the ground. The hecklers then flee the scene.
Question:
What is the biblical thing to do in this situation?
A. Lay on the ground until everyone leaves B. Call the police and have them arrested C. Pray loudly in tongues until fire comes down from heaven and devours them all D. Nothing
In all seriousness, I would like your best Bible answer.

Turn the other cheek brother in obedience to the Lord. Have we had our blood spilled for the name of Christ? I used to spill blood in bar and street fighting quite often. Is the servant greater than the Master? When I am threatened and physically accosted I respond with, you can do nothing but my Father in heaven allows you to. I then follow that with fear not a man who can kill you and do nothing more but fear Him who can kill you and cast your soul into hell forever! Another biblical response is: a kind word turns aside anger and bless those that curse/persecute you. Amen.

I guess it depends on whether you are the guy preaching or the guy taking the beating. I can take a shot or two but have a hard time watching someone else get assaulted. I guess the best thing to do is either 1) keep preaching until they either stone you to death or they leave, or 2) you shake the dust from your feet and walk away; which ever path the Lord leads. Scripture has examples of both.

In the interest of the the PUBLIC's safety I would call the police... If they were willing to beat up a preacher... what else would they be willing to do? I personally would not want to press charges, but I wouldn't want someone else to catch their mean-drunkeness

If they have left, I would just keep preaching. That is unless the other person needed medical help.
If they stuck around, I would move to a different location. Or just keep preaching. Most of the time when someone has been violent around me it doesn't take very long before a "good ol boy" gets mad and takes up for me.
