I am having dealings with apathy or lack of motivation in witnessing~ I come from a Spirit-filled charismatic Church and believe the Holy Spirit is the power for all work for God of course, but I am fired up one day and lackadaisical the next........any advice would be considered. There is such a need and I have seen some of my peers go witnessing just to make themselves feel more spiritual, and have an ego trip. I can say that because there approach, delivery and interaction with the lost whether preaching, or personal work was antagonistic, know it all mentality, unlistening(as Mr. Cahill calls it a monologue when it should be a dialogue) and just set out to win an argument. I have probably been there myself. I see the need, just want to be in the Spirit, not in the flesh ya see?

We are some times going to "feel like" witnessing and other days we are not going to "feel like" witnessing.
But we must not be tossed back and forth by our emotions. Our will is not supposed to obey our emotions. Our will is supposed to obey our intelligence, our conscience.
We know that we must witness. We know that souls are going to hell. And we know that souls are valuable to God. And we must choose (will) in accordance with this knowledge (intelligence) whether we feel like it (emotions) or not.

Something that has helped me is to get the vision of heaven and the vision of hell burned into my heart and mind. I meditate upon it quite often. God is worthy of our love for Him, all of our heart, mind, strength, and soul, so we should obey His commands, they are not grievesome. His glory is revealed every time a Christian reveals the Savior to a sinner. Likewise God will get glory even out of His justice of hell. He does not desire the wicked would perish; but that they turn and live....for His glory. Amen.
