Hey everyone, I'm throwing around the idea of getting a bullhorn to use when doing open air with friends.
I can't find much information on bullhorns online, and so many of them seem to be made by no-name manufacturers that I can't find much info about.
What do you all recommend? (Brands, wattages, other amplification options and considerations)
Thanks.

I have always used the radio shack bullhorn. It works very good. It is great especially for street preaching because you have to compete with the music of bars/clubs and the noise from the streets.
I love your avatar by the way. It's awesome.

Thanks for the comment about my new avatar. I have you to thank for it, after all. Anyone else have suggestions on bullhorns? Anything more specific with regard to brands, wattage, sizes, or other amplification devices?

I would only say get one with a microphone. You don't want to have to hold the whole horn to your mouth. After about 20 minutes of holding it to your face it will get heavy. Most come with one, but it's something you need to have.

I really don't know much about bullhorn's except for the fact that I have used three different bullhorns. Jesse and John have two of the ones that I have used and they are the same thing. They are both from Radio Shack, both have a mic/cb to use, both are loud enough and both last a long time on regular batteries. Personally, I like my Fender P-10 better ;D

I like the price on mine much better! I paid $30 on ebay for a $75 bullhorn. I think it is 5 or 7 watts and does the job just fine. We just want to be heard, if you get much more than that you will be tempted to rattle the windows HARD and you will always get the attention of the police. I checked your municode for Dallas and you have NO restrictions that I can find, that could be good or bad depending on the type of police officer you are dealing with.

Personally, I like my Fender P-10 better ;D Yes, my Mipro (just like the Fender without the name) is the BEST! It is wireless and even has jacks for a hecklers mic and audio input. We've used both depending on the venue. I am looking to get a headset mic for it so I can have more movement when preaching. Maybe it's just me but with the mic in my hand I seem to be rather constrained at times. I just like it better than a bullhorn although I have used the Radio Shack model as well and let me tell you it's LOUD! I had people coming out of every bar in Old Town one night because of the volume... THE RADIO SHACK MODEL IS GREAT! and $100's less than the Mipro!
