Notice at about the 3 minute mark someone points out that Micah(I'm guessing this is the Micah on here but I could be wrong so sorry if I am but I don't think I'm wrong) is overweight which according to the good book is a sin according to the sin of gluttony and eating for joy and being wasteful. He casually just says he is not a glut(which technically is a lie because there is a very small percentage of people who are fat based only on not over eating but a serious medical condition).

I wouldn't say micah is at the point where he's so overweight that it's gluttonous yet, but that's just my point of view. Though, it probably wouldn't hurt for him to lose a couple pounds.

Really i don't believe in gluttony. I don't think it is good to be wasteful but you have to remember that if you are a christian then you believe it is a sin according to the Bible. The thing i don't like is thst Micah says he doesn't sin but if you are not your normal weight for your height then it is technically gluttony no matter what way you spin it.

yeah it's micah, His name is Micah Armstrong, never saw his wife before this though.
Also about "if you are not your normal weight for your height then it is technically gluttony no matter what way you spin it." Who's standards are you taking this by? Is there a height/weight chart in the bible? I mean if you're going to try to nail the guy, get him for being an idiot, not just because he is a little overweight.

In all honesty I couldn't call the guy fat either, as he looks in pretty good shape for 40 plus. Fat in the head perhaps, but not truly /physically fat I would think.

I'm going by regular heath standards. If you are even a little overweight yes that means you over eat which according to the Bible is a sin. I personally have nothing against over eating. I don't like people being wasteful but I also don't mind people eating their favorite food either. The thing is gluttony is one of the SEVEN DEADLY SINS which don't get spouted by too many street ranters for the fact that a lot of them are fat in which case means they are sinning.

davidvalley,
I used to be a competitive powerlifter so yes I have more weight on my frame than your regular person.
I have lost 30 pounds since July and I did not do that overeating. Do you think it is possible to overeat and lose 30 pounds in a few months?
Anyhow before I was on the road we used to buy all our food from whole foods (organic).
However, being on the road you cannot always eat ideally. Most of the time we are staying with others and they invite us to eat.
Well that combined with fasting breakfast and lunch every day for about a year and a half really slowed down my metabolism.
Yes, I gained weight but no I was not a glutton. It was not eating regularly and not eating healthy (southern diet).
However, now I am on the right track again and my weight is down 30 pounds and still dropping.

Good to hear Micah. Someone not understanding like me would tell you they don't believe you but that is actually a very good explanation and I appreciate you coming on here to share.
I'm sure you know I don't agree with street preaching but I do respect your honestly so thanks.

What did they say about Jesus?
Matt 11:18-20 For John came neither eating nor drinking, and they say, He hath a devil. The Son of man came eating and drinking, and they say, Behold a man gluttonous, and a winebibber, a friend of publicans and sinners. But wisdom is justified of her children. Then began he to upbraid the cities wherein most of his mighty works were done, because they repented not:
If you profess Christ, David why do you exhort Micah publically and not privately?
If you profess Christ, do you preach Christ publically?
Did you ask the brother to forgive you as you should by your public unjust rebuke?
Judge righteous judgment, not according to appearance. John 7:24

i like the beginning of the Video. Micah is certainly right in saying that in the USA, only 5 % of the people are saved , right now. Here it would be more around 1 % Also how repentance is introduced , ... after speaking of the false prophets who only say God loves ya but do not point to sin and to the solution of sin..... david , about the 7 deadly sins. In fact there are certainly more that 7. However it is written in the book of Proverbs [chap 6:16-19] There are six things the LORD hates, seven that are detestable to him: haughty eyes, a lying tongue, hands that shed innocent blood, a heart that devises wicked schemes, feet that are quick to rush into evil, a false witness who pours out lies and a man who stirs up dissension among brothers. Elsewhere, that God hates repudiation (divorce). Adultery is also a deadly sin [Mathew 5:27:30] , so there are more than 7. I don't post this to argue, just for information Gluttony is a sin yes, that has to be repented of, but no as detestable as lying, evil thoughts , hatred, murder , pride , adultery .... Gluttony is one of the many possible fruits of a heart that has not found what really satisfies and therefore does not have self-control.

Once again, you people point to morality and what it says in the Bible with nonbelievers who do not believe in the Bible. This makes as much sense as me coming to France and attempting to argue Zeus is God by quoting from a book on Greek Myths. Why can't you people get it? When you say "The Bible says this" or "The Bible says that" in the street sermons and in posts, the answer from us seems to be "Who cares!".

Well dale, if I'm not mistaken, davidvalley is "a christian" by his own standards. Now if the others on the board agree with him is another story.
By the way david, the seven deadly sins aren't even really listed in the bible formally. They were first officially listed by Pope Gregory I, as another wonderful addition by the catholics (such as no meat except fish on friday). If you'd like to pull out a bible and prove me wrong, feel free. You won't be able to though.
Also by "regular health standards" are you referring to that chart that is given by doctors? I wasn't aware that that was holy ordained material about if you're going to hell or not. Thanks for clarifying.

I haven't watched this video but did I say I thought 5% of America was saved?
Boy I was sure liberal then.
I think 2% would be overly generous.
That is the great thing about confrontational open air street preaching. It is really an eye opener.
By the way davidvalley thank you for accepting my explanation.

No problem but you should really take note of that. You guys go out and preach and point the finger at everyone else, but you have to remember that they are not you. They were not brought up the same. We all have different lives. If we search for our soul we will find it. People can't force others to search for their soul and spirit.

Let us be fair to Micah. Condemn him for somethign valid such as his moronic views on life and politics, not on being fat or otu of shape.
1. At age 50, with maybe a decade on Micah , I know or a fact how your body chemistry slows down and it becomes increasingly harder to stay in shape. At work in my case online or (groan) ministry schedule un hsi situation, where you often have to dash and dine does not help either.
2. The geeks in the video aren't exactly ready for a career in pro wrestling themselves , so where do they get off with this accusation? Let's see what they look like at 40 or 50.
Again, I think <icah is a blowhard; and that is the nicest term I can apply to him, though we have never met face to face because he refuses to honor God's will and street preach in New Philadelphia and will not pay me the mandated $10 fee to get me to answer his questions. However, there are plenty opf ways to be critical fo him and he often provides the rope to hang himself if you let him, but let's keep it relatively fair here. He may be a lot of things, but I would not really call him fat or out of shape if you keep age in the equation.

Technically saying you are out of shape because you are over the age of 50 is an excuse. Any nutritionist will tell you that. Sure it is harder to stay in shape but that is usually only due to the fact that you didn't take care of your body when you were younger. I know tons of people in their 60s who are in better shape than most people in my generation which is portrayed as the fattest.
I decided to call Micah out on it because he says he is without sin. I don't believe you can ever be without sin according to the bible which I might add as I have done so before on this board has been misinterpreted so much that the original writings are long lost meaning we can never be sure if it is in fact God's word or not.
Now I accepted his answer because I believe him. I guess I'm just a trusting person that way. But if you asked any hardcore Christian who goes directly by the book with no excuse they would tell you that it is a sin to even be overweight. Like I said I don't agree with that but this is a the point I'm trying to make here. You cannot judge others without even knowing them. What gives any individual the right to d**n the world without substantial evidence other than what they have come to realize in their own mind which is blind faith.

i agree with Dale. We ain't to judge people at their appearance.
in my family , half of the men become a bit rounded after 40-45, while the others stay thin. A metabolism figure i suppose. My brother has "rounded" while i had the chance of remaining thin. And he does not eat more than me !

Because I can tell you actually believe in what you are saying. That scares me. The fact that you can be so closed minded and one sided. So you are a spiritual man right? How do you know this? It says in the Bible that no one can except for Jesus can live without sin. It also says that no sin is worse than any other sin or so that is what most christians from my experience believe. So how is it you are a spiritual man yet you still live in sin? I feel that I can judge you because I think you are wrong. You thihnk I am wrong. That is fair. But the thing is you really believe you are better than me which is arrogant. Why don't you do what the Bible tells you and be humble?

Just for the record, I lost over thirty pounds and think I am in better shape now at 50 than I was at 30. Exactly what I meant earlier. Age doesn't have as much to do with obesity as most think. Sure your joints aren't as good but with a good mix of yoga and other non-strenuous exercises it is possible to live a healthy life into your later years.

How do you think I was brought up?
No most people are brought up the same way I was. Without God, without Bible training, without attending a good church, without a Godly life modeled before me.
I chose to repent of my sin and become a follower of Jesus Christ after I got out of high school.

Most people were not brought up like me? How do you think I was brought up? No most people are brought up the same way I was. Without God, without Bible training, without attending a good church, without a Godly life modeled before me. I chose to repent of my sin and become a follower of Jesus Christ after I got out of high school. That is great but we all experience different things. I am only 20 years old but I know I have a broad understanding of the Bible because I was brought up in three different type of christian religions and I went to a christian school for four years. One christian religion was catholic, one was methodist, and the other was RLDS restoration. The school I went to taught the strict teachings of RLDS. From there as I kid I saw at an early age the contradictions within christianity and it has matured me beyond what I should probably be at my age. I know about life and the things people go through. Philosphy is a favorite subject of mine. I love reading books about how people change because of christianity and other spiritual things. I'm sure I would even like the movie Fireproof. That is the thing though. I have studied different religions and I have come to a conclusion. All of them have the same roots. Saying one religion is right and the rest are not I feel is ridiculous. No one can really know. I haven't come on this board to ridicule you guys and make you stop preaching. I think it is wonderful that you all feel a spirit within you that drives you to be so defending of your stance on life. Do I completely agree with you though? Of course not. I don't think it is right to judge others without knowing them but I do respect you all for trying to do the right thing. I don't think anyone really does agree with another person on everything. That is why different religions are formed. I feel that life is a lot more complicated than just Good VS Evil. I think through those complications and mysteries of life a lot, but I know I will never figure out why things are the way they are. That is why I choose to be the best person I possibly can be by treating others with respect and obtaining my own goals in life that will help and influence others. I have my morals and I know other people have their own morals. We have obtained those morals by what we see and do in our life so far. I know the thought of Good VS Evil is an easy concept and as humans we naturally like easy things but eventually I think we all have to come to the realization that things aren't that easy.

David, youa re being far too diplomatic with rhe street ranters here when these egotistical morons refuse to show me or you the same courtesy or respect. , Micah, John and his friends actually believe that they are spiritual leaders of some kind and are thus gvien free reign to judge those they deem not to be on the same level as them and the sinners . We have no right to give them criticism or an alternative opinion. We are unsaved scum who mock them and will be punished for it in the end. They show an arrogance and conceit that is repulsive and the scary part that makes them no longer funny is they believe their own hype. It is great to have a mythical god rubberstmap approval for you to hate, scoff at and show contempt for all those around you who do not fit your stupid mold. Well, so be it, Christians. If there is a heaven, whicht here is not, I would relish fires in hell with Crwoley and crew rather than share any space with you. I will not have to worry though, as there is no hell except in your own mind and in that book of myths you follow. There is no God, no jesus and no heaven. Prove there is!
How are these street preachers any different from the pharasees?
I will tell you?
They are not different
