I have been having a discussion with a Jehovah Witness, and it's turned to a matter of the "original" texts. If you've ever read any of the New World Translation you know that in the NT they have inserted Jehovah where "Lord" is used speaking of God, such as in Mark 12:29, but they don't use it when speaking of Jesus.
I've looked it up and the word Lord is "kurios" meaning "supreme controller" .
This Witness says that copies of the Septuagint had Jehovah instead of kurios. And that the NKJV and other English versions have the word all capitalized ---LORD.
Now, i've tried to find info on this, but to no avail. My question is two fold, Is there any info on why the NKJV would capitalize LORD, and were there more copies found that used Jehovah in the Septuagint?
