Monday March 1st 2010, North Carolina State University: Raleigh, NC
My permit in the brickyard was from 12-3pm and I began preaching just before noon. Within 15 minutes 25 students were scattered listening, and I had to compete with loud landscaping equipment within feet of me. Soon the noise would cease and the crowd progressively grew and nearing 200. I preached loud, hard and fast, and the spirit of God helped me to preach to the large rowdy crowds throughout the day.
As much as I can remember, today I heard the “judge not” response more than I ever have in one day on a campus. I was asked some fairly decent questions, but the majority of responses and questions were accusations and failed attempts to justify their sin (Prov 17:15, Luke 16:15). The crowd would swell to near 300 at times and the Lord held their attention consistently throughout the whole day. Many jealous false teachers and man pleaser's addressed the crowd with their love unconditional love and forgiveness message, which failed to have any positive impact.
At least 2 “Christian” thieves were on hand trying to steal my water jug. One guy who wouldn’t give up on stealing it, ran and kicked my water jug that I had sat on the ground. It flew several feet and hit two girls in the face, and water splashed all over them. Of course the demonic masses cheered and applauded at this. I continued to reprove and rebuke with all boldness and authority.
Around 2:30pm a 6’2” 270lb angry guy approached me and firmly grabbed by jacket in his muscle loaded fist after I rebuked him. He was seriously intending to hurt me and he grabbed my jacket real tight so I did not attempt to get away, but tossed my Bible on the ground to potentially use my hands as a shield just in case. Many students approached and attempted to calm him down and to persuade him to release me. He vice gripped another student that stood up for me, and he looked as if he would swing at the both of us. He jerked us around for a little while but eventually let us go. I immediately was stirred, and preached hard and loud for another 20 minutes before sitting and talking to a group of about 55 students. Not many serious questions were being asked so I soon left the area.
I addressed another group of students after greeting a brother in the Lord named Jonathan, who witnesses frequently on this campus and who was also arrested over a year ago the same day I got trespass ticket. I was walked to my car by 4or 5 students who stated they appreciated the preaching and 1 asked honest questions about temptation and sin. They prayed for me before departing. It was a very good day, and although the majorities were somewhat calm, this campus needs more frequent preaching.
