Hello. I joined this forum to mainly to discuss the issue of inherent inability to obey God. My current view is definitely that all forms of this belief are false. I'm sure there are plenty of works out there already refuting this doctrine. I have read some good works doing this, and have myself found stuff in Scripture that really seems to show this belief is false. But there are some things that have been brought up in favor of it and against the refutations of it, and I myself have seen Scriptures that could be used to do this. So I hope to at some point as time and energy permits to come on and discuss this with those men who are interested to look into this thing deep, and see if inherent inability in all forms, from the extreme views to the more moderate ones are all false, and then if so, to refute every possible argument that could be used to contradict, if possible, to put the final nail in the coffin of this doctrine. The reason why I believe it is so important to do this is because I clearly see this doctrine being the foundation upon which all the other heresies today, at least for the most part, rest--Faith Alone, OSAS/Perseverance of the Saints, Penal Substitution, Imputed Righteousness of Christ, Irresistible Grace, Limited Atonement, Universalism, Double Justification, Unconditional Election of Individuals to Salvation, etc. It is clear to me it is really true that any form whatsoever of inherent inability is false, then knocking it down, all these other doctrines, at least for the most part, fall down and crumble with it, having been necessitated, for the most part at least, by it. Our focus should be here, I believe, because if we utterly refute it, then we have ask why any of these other things would be necessary. Of course we should still deal with these other beliefs, IMO, but the focus should be on taking the building down from the foundation, it's base, then after that we can easily stamp down the pieces of rubble into dust and let the wind carry them away.
