I was arrested again last Sunday October 29 at South Beach. I spent the night in jail and was bonded out by 3:50 AM. The last time I had preached here was August 5.

I am sorry to hear you had to spend the night in jail. Is it safe to assume that you were not doing anything "above and beyond" free speech and that the arrest was unreasonable?

Yes, I believe it is safe to assume that. Everyone with me could not believe it.
I was preaching on a small bullhorn. Several others had preached on it before me and the police passed several times and said nothing.
I preached for about a half hour and the police showed up and told me I was breaking a noise ordinance and needed to move on. He then threatened me and told me he had dealt with me before (I did not remember this officer although I have had many interactions with officers of Miami Beach).
I put the bullhorn away and continued preaching without it. The officer came and looked at me surprised. I lowered my voice and continued preaching just above normal volume. He then walked up to me with the cuffs and arrested me without telling me why.
After I was cuffed and put in the squad car, another preacher began preaching in a louder voice than I was and they did nothing. Much of what I was told from the others who were with me made it clear it is an issue the police have with me.

Bummer man. From that description, it certainly does sound like a personal attack.
Praying that the court date goes well!

Way to go, Dillinger. Should I be baking you a cake with a file in it like in the cartoons.

You ought to, on the other hand, try a suit against both the cheif of police and the arresting officer, as well as the city of Miami as I think you have grounds.

Yep, lawsuit time. That kind of thing can't be allowed to stand.

The thing is Micah has me rolling on the floor laughing with every word that comes out of his mouth when he is on his soapbox. I seriously agree with NOTHING he says Be that as it may, over the past few years, our civil liberties have been taken away from us one at a time, without any fight whatsoever in this country. What next and where does it stop? You stop someone like this, whether you agree with him or not, then what comes next? . And Miami of all places? This place is the biggest sewerpile on the face of the earth or pretty close. There is no serious crime, where the police could be out fighting, where instead they have to worry about some crackpot evangelist wannabe? You have got to be kiddiing .
And supporting someone like Micah in this case isn 't gonna make us friends. Again, I agree with NOTHING he comes up with and I hate that hat of his, but........

I can niether admit that I do or do not like the hat, as I have never seen it. I'm sure it's very nice though (though I also think Miles's shirt is cool.) What I can say is that I hope you get a good team of lawyers and sue the city. I know fundamentalist Christians and the ACLU don't often work together, but they are often interested in free speech cases. If you don't have a good legal team it might be worth trying to get help from them.

I was in Chicago a year or so ago and saw these horse drawn carriage rides. The horse who pulled our carriage had a hat just like it, with two holes cut in it for ears.
I hate that hat. That hat is of the devil.

Yes, I already have a case against Miami Beach since my last arrest there in March. I think they really made it harder on themselves now.

May God be glorified throughout it all.

It is odd to be on the same side as Micah The Mouth this go around, but I am.
Now if he would just give that hat to Good Will or stick it on some wino's head under the pretense of doing it to be Christlike, all will be right with the world.

dale,
Do you think they may have arrested me because they don't like my hat?
Or maybe like you they are jealous they don't have one like it?
Maybe I need to get a purple shirt like Miles also.

Haha...a magic Arrest-Inducing Hat...I've seen one of those before, but it had two beer cans mounted on it, of which liberal use was being made prior to the arrest

No, but I do think they arrested oyu because they dont like you and you are being shaken down, which is why it is time to quit turning the other cheek and fight back with them.
In a garbage hole like Miami (I have another choice word or two for the place, but wouldnt be able to get byw ith it on the board), you'd think the police could find some drug dealers, aliens, murderers or someone guilty of serious cirmes to keep their eyes on.

Amen dale. Unfortunately, I think many of the police are paid off by the business owners who are part of the mafia.
I am fighting back. I already had a lawsuit pending against Miami Beach from when I got arrested back in March.

That would be great to have such recent activity included.
