California has very thorough hate crime laws. Just out of curiosity, how many street preachers have been jailed in CA under these statutes?

Don't know? I think the statutes have squelched a lot of Christian speech out there though.

Jack, Liz, Evan, Miles, Eli? You have all been doing OA in California recently...have you experienced any problems vis a vis California hate crime legislation, or have you heard stories of local harassment with a basis in these laws?

actually, CA has some of the more liberal laws concerning free speech. It is one of the very few places you can witness in malls because they are considered "private property with public access.
CA is where Ray Comfort lives and preaches. Other than the courthouse incident, I don't think he has much problem, plus several GNN boot camps have been held there with little to no opposition from law enforcement.
