This is an email I recieved regarding it:
Jesse, Jeff, & Miles,
Good evening. It is a pleasure to be talking with you...AGAIN. The show that you put for the GMU students was very courageous and admirable, considering how diverse and "good crazy" the campus is. I especially loved standing up there with you listening to what you had say...word for word. You definitely had a drive and a passion to make sure YOUR words were heard. And again, I find that very brave!
I would like for you to visit www.youtube.com/watch?v=whHcBL_nEWk&search=george%20mason%20university an exclusive look at your show April 18 and 19th here at George Mason University. You will see that you gained the support of one to two students, you will hear the "cheers" from the crowds, you will hear some memorable dialogue from each and every one of the students, and even better, you will hear YOURSELVES. I advise you to check this video out...it contains some strong profanity, and offensive dialogue relating to Evangelical bigotry, hatred, and condescension. And in case you don't know what condescension...lol just kidding. It should familiar to you by now as you practice it on a daily basis.
Love,
Matt (a.k.a. "I'm Gay I'm Saved")
This is what the man who took the footage said on his page:
Open Air Outreach at George Mason University (GMU)
Transcript of Video: http://crocodlle.livejournal.c om/2006/04/24/ (There should be no spaces)
Evangelists from the Open Air Outreach organization talked to George Mason Univeristy students in between classes. The evangelists showed courage, but sparked contreversy and ridicule from students when hitting certain subjects that hit a vein with listeners, including calling Muslims "idol worshippers", homosexuals "sinners", and suggesting the women on campus of dressing like "harlets".
What DIDN'T Get Caught On Tape - While the video is tame overall, the evangelists had been preaching for two days, enduring near-fights and even had water bottles punched out of their hands, with authorities standing by in case of violence. The event took place at the same time that members of the school's Pride Alliance attempted to gain signatures opposing the anti-gay marriage bill awaiting in the Virginia Senate.
GMU was named the #1 most diverse college in the country by the Princetown Review. The school created a buzz in the media in early April when the basketball team stunned sports fans by being seeded 11th, but making it to the NCAA Final Four, before being defeated by Florida.
Thirty minutes of footage was taken, but only ten was used due to time constraints.
