Jesse I want to commend you on how you handle the situation each time you are approached by the system.
There are many out there saying they are doing the service of God, and when approached by police officers, their true fruit of wickedness comes to sight. I actually was watching a video earlier this morning of a person who had posted here. I will not mention names at this time. But it got me sick to my stomach to watch such craze. He calls himself a prophet or an apostle, and he presents himself as a devil. He threatened the cops that God was gonna bust them open. and then you can hear his people praying in tongues behind him, which I assure you that is not by the Spirit of Christ.
This has just made it even harder for open air preachers to go forth and get the Word of God out. That is the reason preaching is done. Not to fight the law of man. Not to highlight the actions of the police. But to preach to the lost and see souls saved.
So again, I believe many can learn from you. I think that the ministers should stand their grounds on what is right, but I do believe they can do it in a way that is fruitful to the kingdom. I believe many go out for the intent of getting hassled.
But I believe the way you have handled yourself has been a witness to these students even more-so than the preaching you have done. The witness is a good one. Keep up the good work.

Rhema,
Thank you very much. I have found, after numerous encounters with Police, that the key is to stay very calm and reasonable instead of getting emotionally frustrated and upset. Find out what the nature of their complaint is and try to negotiate. If it's volume, just turn it down. If it's location, try to move. And ask all the right questions like "what law am I breaking?" and "what will you do if I keep preaching". If they tell me to leave or be arrested, I will tell them that I will leave, but I just want to know what law I am breaking. It is then up to the Attorneys to sort through the information.
Rebecca,
Your right. It's absolutely absurd for them to call free speech and the exercise of religion "boycotting". I wasn't boycotting the school or anything. I was simply exercising my religion which requires open air evangelism, and I was using free speech to preach the gospel! It's amazing to me that we have these supposed rights, except if we actually try to use them.

Without a video camera I'm not sure what you could do. I don't bring a video camera when I preach because I preach alone. So if I get arrested oh well.

The devil will do anything it seems to prevent the glories Gospel from being presented. I had to laugh a little at his accusation of boycotting just because of a bumper sticker. Obviously these officers are looking for a reason to arrest you guys!!!!

You could always just use an audio recorder. Video cameras are better, but audio recorders are the next best thing. It can be just as good as video.
Wish you could have been there Brother. It's ok. I'm sure there will be many more opportunities just like it.
Yes they were really stretching it and scrapping the bottom of the barrel with the boycotting thing because of the bumper sticker. They were making things up and looking for reasons to have us stopped.

I think that the craziest thing about the whole day, is that this was like the 4th or 5th time I had been out there. They gave me a big hassle the first time I went there. I talked to the admin and security that day and they said we wouldn't have any more problems. On top of all of this, we were out there preaching the day before and they said nothing to us that day! They made the new Gazebo rule up on the fly. Alliance Defense Fund is possibly interested in pursuing this college as well. BUT, it's not that big of a deal...we can just preach from the public sidewalk from here on out...

It's too bad the police keep disrupting your preaching. Sometimes though that has a positive effect on the kids because it makes them think a little when your being persecuted like that. I'm sure you'll be able to work something out with the school. Praying...
