OKLAHOMA UNIVERSITY, NormanToday we preached for 5 hours to crowds of up to maybe 200 people. The crowds grew large, but never very angry. Often it seems the larger the crowd, the angrier the crowd. But not so here. The crowd typically had a light atmosphere. All three of us had a chance to preach for a good length of time. We answered their objections and questions of life. Both the city paper, and the campus paper came out to the meeting. God truly blessed this meeting. QUOTES FROM STUDENTS"I appreciate what ya'll are doing." Rebecca, Freshmen - Human Relations Major."I think it's great and it got a lot of people involved who otherwise would not have been. It made me as a Christian want more knowledge of the scriptures." Blaze, Sophmore - Psychology Major"I think this is a good idea because like the Apostles, when they preached they ran into trouble. This is the best group that we've had." Meghan, Professional Writing Major."I think you guys did a lot of good today." A Christian Student.Around 80 pictures of the outreach can all be viewed at: www.openairoutreach.com/gallery/album10

This is a good one of Miles: This is a good one of Jeff: (Isn't it awesome when students sit down to listen to the Word of God being preached for hours?) Around 80 pictures of the outreach can all be viewed at: www.openairoutreach.com/gallery/album10

We had a great time today. I really learned a lot as well. I had a JW heckler for almost the whole meeting. We sparred. He became so beligerant I decided to simply sit down on a chair and let him vent as I calmly took his objections. Before I knew it the crowd was turning against him because it was obvious that he lacked self control. They told him to settle down basically, seeing that since I started preaching I had not treated him in such a manner. As I became calm, so did the crowd. I found many listening intently and understanding the gospel message. As I shared an illustration about a courtroom scenario you could tell people were thinking. After I shared the analogy, the JW started shouting about how stupid the illustration was and that it made no sense. All of a sudden multiple students started to exclaim that the analogy made perfect sense to them and that they thought it was a good way to explain what Jesus did. PRAISE GOD! It wasn't long before the JW could no longer take it and stormed off. I was deeply saddened when "Christians" on campus were defending the JW, knowing full well that he was a Jehovah Witness. Apparently things like the deity of Christ, the trinity, and eternal judgment weren't doctrines that were really important for a true Christian to believe in their mind. We need get back to the Bible and these campuses are places where many "Christians'" faith is being shipwrecked. I really focused today to preach with a 2 Timothy 2:24-26 kind of attitude.
While at the same time ballancing "contending earnestly for the faith". I am glad we got all of today on audio. I hope to be able upload some audio soon.
I must say, I feel greatly blessed by God and humbled as I watch what the Lord is doing on these campuses. Please pray for us as a ministry, and please pray for me. We need that more than anything.
Contending,
Miles

Amen. This day was full of opportunities to exercise good crowd control. The Holy Spirit was definitely leading in how to keep the crowd a bit stirred - but not riotous, and how to calm them down and keep them quiet - by singing or sitting down. It was a wonderful day, and I know that the Lord sure taught me a lot, as well as planted and watered many, many seeds!
To God be the glory and to God alone!

That was a great article. Not really slanderous in any way. This is a great open campus (no permit needed). Quite a few good Christians on there as well.
