Picture of a Prophet II

In this day of slack spirituality, crooked Christendom, and bankrupt believers, it is time that we see dynamic discipline, courageous Christianity, and child-like faith. I long to see the day when the church is risen up in power and God receives the glory that is due to His name. Do you never think of the manifold sorrows of the “man of sorrows” as He intercedes for His wayward flock? It is high time the spiritual infants step aside and cry “hosanna” at the triumphal entry of the new breed of Christians God is raising up right in our midst.
Yes, God is doing it. He is raising up a remnant right in the midst of this new crooked and perverse generation. I would like to say that I am part of it, but I fear I must prepare the way. God has given me a peculiar office, but that does not stop me from imitating the Lord Jesus. However, these men shame me spiritually, and I can only fall on my knees and plead the promises of scripture on their behalf.
This new generation is fearless in the face of opposition. They fear nothing but sin and God. They hold forth the word of light and expose the sin held in the darkness of the children of wrath.
Fear of man, they cry against it. Fear of God, they cry for it.
This new breed of believers lives like pilgrims here on earth, for that is what they are. The opinions of men hold no value in the sight of the man that places no value upon himself. The mind of a sojourner erases the vanity of reputation because to him, preaching is not an occupation, and God is real.
The preaching of the gospel is to them that perish foolishness, and this new kind of Christian makes sure that before the sermon is over, you know it, regardless of what it costs him.
This new generation is of Christians sacrifices everything in order that their hearers might sacrifice everything to the one who has already sacrificed everything. Jesus laid down His life, and took it up again so that we can be redeemed; these believers lay down their lives never to take them up again because they no longer live, but the risen Christ lives in them.
This new generation of Christians loathes sin, and loves God.
They trample the devil under their feet every chance they get, and bow at the feet of God every chance they get.
They cast away reputation, retaliation, and practice a life of renunciation, all for the glory of God.
They live above the world, under God, and apart from sin. Holiness unto the Lord is their cry!
They are repulsive to the world, and the world is repulsive to them.
They personify the term, living martyrs.
The slick phrases of spiritual fuzzy thinkers hold no appeal to them.
If the masses cannot feel the punch of conviction and be knocked out under the revelation of the holiness of God, then you wont find these men preaching it.
They throw down the altars of baal and set up the old altar of Jehovah God.
Then they call down the fires of revival to consume the prophets of the false gospel.
O that God would raise up many, many more men of God of this stature! We must conform to Christ or be cast out of the kingdom. The day of the simple sinner’s prayer has left and God has ushered in again the day of the second born new creature. Fall to your knees ye lukewarm, and cry out to God that He may bless us with an Elijah of God. O God, send us prophets!
