God is such a sweet Father. I bless His Name! Unsure of what happened on thursday because I had to get back to Jackson and work but Jed & the rest stayed another day. Regardless, I will write it as best I can. On the way preached a quick message on repentance and regeneration in a gas station while shock still set in haha. What a beautiful city pensacola is and definitely full of the lost! We went to the beach upon arrival and set up to preach at the busiest intersection in the strip b/w the sound and the gulf. Started preaching as I went into gas station with Gospel sign. Pretty heavy persecution from all sides. Several Christians came and listened. A crowd of half naked people walked by and told us 'we will see you in hell' and mocked my Father. Told them they will not laugh on judgement in their sins and God is not mocked etc. God really dealt with me on this trip. He gets the glory.
Went down the beach and had a few convo's: drinking marine recruit: my dads a music minister and I used to be in Church, he brought up the fallacy of alcohol us: we are here to tell you God requires you to examine yourself to see if you are in the faith. Very heavy conviction.
A sorority had made a big sand castle with their emblem on the front, we erased it and put the Alpha & Omega design on it and they came running out to see what we were doing. We replied to questions with just putting an eternal truth on a temporal house as opposed to a temporal truth. Jesus was preached as they walked off in the stunned mode of dealing with "crazy Christians"
Many tracts handed out, got cussed a ton! More so than in Mississippi? We saw Mormon guys on wednesday and it set up a huge opportunity for us to sharpen our cult apologetics as well as fulfill the Calling. Hebrews 1:1 was posed and no answer as they were stumped. They got annoyed and almost mad at (yes I said almost mad!) their inability to stand up to the truth. Bruce McConkie was quoted "Salvation is by grace alone, with everything you can do." They acknowledged that and we posed the Biblical salvation by grace alone and not by works. Stumped them. They attacked the scripture and we pointed out that if all they could do was go after contradictions (or supposed) in the Canon what in the world were they doing being missionaries two years of their life complaining about questionable errors in the Bible? Stumped them. They finally said we are Christian, you are, we preach jesus, you preach Jesus. Why are we bickering when we could be saving the lost? We posed the fact that if they were right, we would go to outer darkness, we don't follow their prophet, don't read the Book of M, or D & C, and oppose it vehemently, but if we were right, they would be sentenced to eternal hell, Joseph Smith would be a false prophet, the mormon book was irrelevant. Made it quite clear we could not coexist as two truths. They were stumped as we labeled them cult clearly and went through the law and true salvation. Exchanged emails for more Q's. God is so beautiful. So lovely is His fellowship. ps Florida is beautiful!
