Hey guys!
Our open air last Saturday 11/3/06, had a bit of a difference, so I'm going to share it with you.
It's 3:30pm, and i'm standing with one or two others waiting on the car to arrive with all the equipment. Sure enough, just as normal, we begin to hear the sound of old fashioned hymns being played over the air waves (we have two speakers ontop of a car, not only connected to a mike for preaching, but also connected to a portable cd player, in which a gospel music cd is placed while the car is driving through the town to the spot where we preach). The car did a lap around the town and then parked up where a few of us were waiting.
We got set up and I began to preach what God had laid upon my heart for that afternoon. A message I entitled, "Hell On Earth" taken from Mark 5 and the account of the Demoniac. I definately felt God's help in bringing the message with a small measure of divine power and a number of people stood "afar off" to listen to the Word. Of course with the hearers there were the usual scoffers, but I believe God blessed His word.
Anyway, we finished after about 30 mins and packed up to go to the next village. When we got into the car, the fella driving turned to me and said, "What about giving them a bit o' Paisley?" Of course I said, "whatever brother" without thinking too much about it. So he placed a cd in the player and the unique and VERY well known sound of the voice of Dr. Ian Paisley (he is a political leader in our country and his main local area is my town, the town we're preaching in) preaching his mighty message, "60 Minutes To Go!!" If you have ever downloaded the message, you will understand the kind of effect it may have.
Well.....as we drove around the town with 'Paisley' blasting the gospel over the air, the people of the town were nearly breaking their necks to see what was going on. At first they probably thought Ian was canvassing for election or something, but they soon heard that it was far from political jargon he was going over. Everyone was coming out of the shops to see what was happening and the LOOKS some gave!! My, if looks could kill, we'd have been dead! It really was an experience!
Have to go, dinner is ready!!
God bless!
