UNIVERSITY OF SOUTH CAROLINA, COLUMBIAWe spent the last two days on USC campus. We lifted up our voices, spared not, and told the people their transgressions. We came against opposition by false believers who would heckle us and say they were Christians. They would cuss us out and try to preach to our crowds. I asked one of them while he was preaching, "What seperates us from God" to which he said, "sin". I said, "But you said you sin every day" to which he said, "I know, and I am seperated from God" as he tried to continue his sermon about knowing God. The campus not only had false believers, it also had pagans and heathens. There were quite a few different homosexuals and lesbians that we met. But the campus didn't escape the preaching of the gospel. The administration gave us the stage area on the patio of the Cafe. The name of Jesus Christ was exalted. QUOTES FROM STUDENTS:"It's cool to know that there are people who care enough to do something." Miriam "God is going to bless you for this." A Christian Student "We've been listening for a while and we think your doing a great job. You're getting a lot of people to listen and all we've heard has been truth." Two Christian Girls "What you are saying is great. I love it. It's really awesome." A Christian Student "You guys are really courageous. This is good." Yeah, this was a great campus. The first day was a little wild with the two "christians" yelling at us and saying we weren't preaching right. But it was ok... I kept my cool... and my suspenders. One got on stage and tried to take over so I decided to get off the stage, be in the crowd and heckle him! It was a little humorous. I asked him questions like "If I like have pre-marital sex with my girlfriend and get drunk and I hate God... what will happen to me when I die?" He had a difficult time answering that one. He kept on saying things like "I BELIEVE you might not go to heaven." "Ok... WHERE?" "Well.. I believe hell...." He really couldn't say with confidence the truths in the Bible. His whole message was basically "God just wants to get to know ya" What was great this day was that amidst all this opposition, I had amazing conversations with people after the preaching. A couple different people came under heavy conviction. One guy interupted a conversation I was having with two girls who were telling me how what I was doing was all wrong and my message was not the Bible, to tell me that he really appreciated what we were doing and that it took courage and we must care about people to do what we do. he seemed to have some contrition in his eyes as he walked off after shaking my hand. For some reason that only silenced the critics for about one minute. I thought it was totally like God to send that encouragement in the middle of a criticism. On the way out from the campus we had some good conversations as well. I spoke with one youung lady named Melissa who seemed to be convicted about some sins in her life. When she realized what I was saying she came to the conclusion that if I was right, then most of the campus was going to hell. We were outside where there are lots of tables with people eating and she said that I should tell all the people sitting here that they are wrong. So I did. I got everyone's attention and introduced myself and the whole place went quiet. I then delivered a simple gospel message that took no more than sixty seconds. It was obvious Melissa couldn't believe that I had just done that, judging by her hand which covered her mouth. I think she was a little embarrased and was worried people might think she was with me. (She didn't realize that we had been preaching open air all day) A good time was had by all, please pray for the people we spoke to. Jeff preaching day 2 with the eating area in the background there (I love it when they sit in class) The second day was very civil and the crowd was a little more reasonable. We had lots of encouragement today from Christians who liked what we were doing. I even had one guy who was asking questions in the open air who later returned to tell us that he really appreciated what we were doing. He said he wasn't religious but wished that he was. He told me how he envied people that were because they seemed so happy. I ministered to him about Jesus not being just about happiness, but about righteousness. I left him with the verse about what it would profit a man if he gained the world but lost his soul. He seemed to get it. Pray for him too if you could. Miles

Sounds like a good day of preaching, any audio of the preaching?

We got day one on record, but on day two (which I think was one of the best yet) the recorder dropped while it was recording and it ended up losing all the audio from the day. (Very disappointed) Now it won't hold a charge. Might have to get a new one or a new battery. Praise God.

Amen. Good report. I have wondered what it would be like to be a heckler to someone who isn't preaching the Gospel, Biblically.
