North Carolina State University
The past two days we have spent preaching on the UNC campus. This campus requires a permit obtained through sponsorship for free speech, but Kerrigan and Rod Knap have a friend named John who has obtained one. So we all went together and John would let us preach.
This campus has had a great deal of preaching. A preacher named Brother Gary Birdsong preachers there very regularly: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gary_Birdsong . And another preacher Tom Short was there just last week: www.ShortReport.com . However, we were still able to pull in the students and keep their attention for numerous hours.
Today I started by talking about the contradiction of laws we have regarding fetuses. A women was recently charged with murder for snorting cocaine while pregnant which resulted in the death of her unborn. Also, if a man drinks and drives and hits a pregnant women and the unborn child dies, he is charged not only with DUI but also murder. Likewise if a pregnant women is beat up and her unborn dies in the attack, the attacker is charged with murder. However, if the mother willingly brings her child to a doctor and the doctor kills that "fetus" it is her "right" as a women.
Students took some interest and I was able to engage them. Talking about our country that has left it's Christian foundations and talking about the modern influence of atheism and it's ultimate outcomes. I have greatly enjoyed the new perspective "presuppositional apologetics" has given me for open air. It's been great.
Tommorow we will be preaching in "The Pit" at Chapel Hill. I hear it's a wild campus and a great place to preach.
