I love books, and thought it would be fun to discuss my favorite one. I also thought you guys would like it because it is so very, very Christian.
What are your opinions on Les Miserables? Do you find Hugo's themes consistent with your beliefs? What comments about the religious aspects do you have? Any fans of the musical in here?
And if all else fails: favorite characters? I've got to say Enjolras is mine. He is my favorite fictional character ever. But Valjean will, of course, always have a special place in my heart. I wrote my essay to get into college about him and have done a speech as well.
And I am actually not lying, or being sarcastic, or anything else: this really is my favorite book. I have another favorite that ties, but I don't think you guys would enjoy discussing it quite so much as it is Ayn Rand's The Fountainhead. But this one, I figured, might be okay.

I read this in the original French. I lived in France for a period of time. This was the first "big people" book I ever read.

I can't believe this book got through the mod, but my thread about Lolita didn't.

I'm a Robert Jordan fan myself.

I read this in the original French. I lived in France for a period of time. This was the first "big people" book I ever read. Woah. Craaazy. All I know of French is what I had to take for our foreign language requirement--I wish I could be fluent in another language but I'm just not talented enough. I read unabridged English when I was fourteen--it took me six months but was the best Christmas present I ever got.
