University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill
Chapel Hill, an open air preachers paradise. This campus is wide-open, literally as public as a park. You can preach anywhere. The best place to preach however is known as "The Pit" in the center of campus.
Around The Pit at noon there are THOUSANDS upon THOUSANDS of students. So many students in this one area, that it's almost too noisy to preach.
However Brother Jeff was able to preach and get a nice inquiring crowd.
Jeff was able to preach against sin as well as apologetically regarding the accuracy of the scriptures. Jeff is getting pretty good at remembering names and dates and numbers for apologetics.
After Jeff preached for maybe an hour he handed it over to Brother Miles who preached for quite a while.
Then Kerrigan, also known on these boards as "Rev K" took over and reasoned with the students, persuading them to leave their sin and come to Christ.
After Kerrigan preached for quite some time, one heckler showed up that was right down my alley.
This student was a professing intellectual agnostic. I was able to speak to him for quite sometime using presuppositional apologetics, showing him how absurd and rediculous his stance really was.
It was not hard to see that his metaphysics and his epistomology do not comport but actually contradict. Because of that, he disqualified himself from meaningful debate because he did not meet the preconditions for intellegability.
But once I brought up sin, he tucked tail and ran. However by this time he helped me work up a very nice crowd that remained while I continued preaching.
I ended the meeting with a strong message on the new birth, sharing my testimony and exhorting them to come to Christ. There were Christains on campus who liked what we were doing. Overall, it was a wonderful day of ministry.
It was also great to be able to fellowship with Kerrigan and Rod Napp who run pinpointevangelism.com
