You know the sad thing is, alot of CS Lewis' quotes are totally taken out of context... and slandered...
I was reading Johnathan's post, with some of the quotes from different books, and it takes alot of Lewis' quotes out of context to make it appear like he was saying something he wasn't...
BTW no bust on you Johnathan... I am sure you probably just cut and pasted that from somewhere else...
The sad thing is I have rejected alot of godly bible teachers because someone took something they said out of context, and told me about them...but later found out the truth...
I have also accepted some poor bible teachers, and recommended them to others, because someone took a few quotes out of the context of what they were saying and made them sound different than they actually taught..
I learned not to take everything at face value, but go and look for myself...
Having done that where CS Lewis is concerned... and knowing the context of many of the quotes above... I think he is one of the most sound apologists and bible teachers this century has seen...
Sadly many will never glean from that man's full life of walking with Jesus, because they heard a "sound bite", or saw a snippet from an internet page, and rejected it without ever looking into it...
That's just poor stewardship...
BTW Delta Dom...
since you actually read mere christianity... what exactly struck you about it?
