Please pray that the homosexuals who have been notified of ICM Open Air Outreach's use of some of their photos will come to repentance as they view our online video of the recent OA meeting...I was legally challenged but I'm not so foolish as to ibreak the Law; they are the law breakers by threatening myself and the Ministry, however, I desire their Salvation and would refuse to retaliate in court unless it was in defence of my Charter Rights.
Before bed last night I received the following letter from a viewer of the recent Gay Pride Videos which were posted on ICM Open Air Outreach:
Subj: Private Pictures From: *************
Mr. Lirette: You have obtained photos of me and have used them in your video presentation. These photos were not taken by you, nor do they belong to you. Please remove any and all photos with my likeness from your website, or I will have my lawyer contact you. The video you took of the Gay Pride parade is yours. The photo stills you have obtained from the ********* website are a copyright infringement. You will have 24 hours to remove them. I am forwarding this to my private contact list, so that my friends, family and peers within the gay community may be aware that their photos may be posted illegally on your site. They may also want to take action.
Have a quality day. Sincerely ***************
My reply was:
Fair Use:
Due to a recent legal threat from a well meaning, yet misinformed indivdual concerning photos used in ICM OAO's Gay Pride Protest Videos, ICM OAO has herein listed the Canadian Fair Use Law as pertaining to Copyrighted material for such individual to read, study and respect as a lawful means of fair use:
All Quotes Below Are Taken Directly From The Canadian Intellectual Property Office of Canada:
People such as critics, reviewers and researchers often quote works by other authors in articles, books, and so on. Are they infringing copyright? Not necessarily. The Copyright Act provides that any "fair dealing" with a work for purposes of private study or research, or for criticism, review or news reporting is not infringement. However, in the case of criticism, review, or news reporting, the user is required to give the source and the author's, performer's, sound recording maker's or broadcaster's name, if known.
Facts, ideas and news are all considered part of the public domain, that is, they are everyone's property.
Note too, that you cannot hold a copyright for a work that is in the public domain. You can adapt or translate such a work and have a copyright for your adaptation or translation.

Yeah; I was going to send an email threatening them back with legal action, but I was compelled to be non retaliatory.
I'm also praying they do not track me down and try to harm my family... they live VERY close by and know my face as it' son-site and as i am seen OA'ing across the city often.
Pray for my protection and that of my family

That is wise biblethumper to be aware they could try to track you down. They probably will not but you never know. God will protect you I am sure but take all precautions. That is why I don't post my real name.

Your objective in posting pictures of homosexuals is to identify those homosexuals to other hate-mongers and other members of homophobic hate organizations.

Incorrect, larry...the pictures posted do not "identify" in the sense you speak of, because the photos are of a PUBLIC event... THEY are the ones who first posted them online. Oh, and until recently, before I revoked ICM's registered status, we were a known and recognized entity with the Canadian Government. Lastly, we are also presently registered with the Police (RCMP) here in our city, and are known as a peaceful Ministry BY the Police.

... the photos are of a PUBLIC event... THEY are the ones who first posted them online. Irrelevent thesis. I never claimed otherwise. Oh, and until recently, before I revoked ICM's registered status, we were a known and recognized entity with the Canadian Government. Red Herring. I don't see what this has to do with anything. Lastly, we are also presently registered with the Police (RCMP) here in our city, and are known as a peaceful Ministry BY the Police. Finally! This is the crux of the matter. Even though you believe you run a peaceful ministry, and even if the police believe you run a peaceful ministry, the fact remains that your ministry is homophobic. So, when your group maintains a library of photos which identify homosexuals, it does not meet the standards of fair and reasonable use. Your behavior is analogous to the KKK maintaining a library of photos identifying civil rights advocates. The KKK claims to be a Christian organization too, BTW. What purpose do these photos possibly serve for your group? Why not just take the photos down? Is it your intention to shame these people? Do you just want to "win" an arguement with some homosexuals? Sounds pretty vain to me. Vanity is a sin, right? It's one thing to condemn homosexual behaviour, but by hosting these photos it sounds like you're condemning the sinners and not the sin. Sounds like you should ... ... oh geez ... ... ... how's that go? ... ... maybe ... ... REPENT.

It's illegal to take these pictures without their consent.
This right is protected under copyright laws, that I'm sure you are aware of.
They broke no laws, you self-centered jackass. You refuse to retaliate in court because you have no defense. So please, leave the gay's alone. Stop infringing on copyright. Do something more moral or useful with your life... go find yourself a friend, look at some porn, whatever. Just please stop hurting others that have caused no harm to you.

The ones who cause harm are those parading their sin in the Open Air in the eyes of innocent children. The ones causing harm are the homosexuals who have, statistically in a lifetime, 300 men per person before death. 4% of the population of Canada claims to be homosexual/bisexual. A minority with a loud voice and a sinful agenda is just that: a minority. The criminals are those who walk our streets and our corners looking to pick up little kids for sexual pleasure. THAT is the harm. I'll be there. To preach to them while others applaud them. To shame them while they pridefully boast of their sin. To scorn their sin. To hate their lifestyle. To love them enough to show them a better lifestyle. To do the Will of God.

A minority with a loud voice and a sinful agenda is just that: a minority. So, you believe minority opinions are meaningless? Ready to lead us to the camps and the showers, Dan? The criminals are those who walk our streets and our corners looking to pick up little kids for sexual pleasure. Homosexual does not equal pedophile. There are both heterosexual and homosexual pedophiles. Historically, churches used to marry middle aged men to 10, 11 and 12 year old virgin girls. Tolstoy and Dostoevsky both wrote about the horrors of these kinds of arranged marriages, where often a young girl's first sexual experience would be with a man twice her age who had already contracted venereal diseases from Russian prostitutes. Many churches around the world and even in the U.S. still perform marriages for underaged girls. The gay community doesn't endorse pedophilia any more than Christianity does.

abb, Are you serious? You think you can't take pictures of someone in public without their consent. Which country do you live in? Oh no biblethumper, someone called you a HOMOPHOBIC!!!!!!!!!! The issue isn't who took the pictures or who posted the pictures on the internet first. The issue is whether or not a hate group, like an evangelical ministry, has the right to hoard photos of the people they hate. Again, this is similar to the KKK hoarding photos of civil rights leaders or socially prominent blacks. Evangelicals do not have the right to maintain records of homosexuals or abortion providers, because it creates a danger to those people. Even if Dan doesn't personally attack these homosexuals, someone in his ministry might. Or, perhaps someone in Dan's ministry will "out" a homosexual in their workplace, leading to a firing or other discrimination. And, yes, you are homophobes. You do not follow Christ's teachings. You hate sinners just as much as you hate sin. More probably. You both reek of vanity and wrath. Follow your own advise and repent.

Stop judging us Larry!
You make a point about posting pictures of people for hate purposes, but taking a picture of someone in public and posting it is no crime either way.
You should see the pictures of sites homosexuals have of street preachers on them. Talk about hoarding photos of people you hate. Are you aware of this Larry?

According to this letter....
bible thumper didn't take the picture. He "took" the picture( as in stole) from a website without permission. That IS against copyright laws.

You're right biblethumper, larry shouldn't have compared you to them.

Canadian Copyright states clearly taht ANYTHING in the public domain is PUBLIC and words it as saying, and I quote, "everyone's property".
So, again, your argument only holds true in your own country; not mine.
As for abb....
Jesse, can you politely ask that abb refrain from turning prayer requests into debates and post elsewhere...

And, is this picture in the pubic domain? I was under the impression that it was 50 years after the photograph was taken before it entered the public domain... (canadian law, not US)
But, do correct me if I'm wrong.

I can judge all I want. My religion doesn't say, "judge not, lest ye be judged". Anyways, it's my intention to tell you that you are bad people. I believe you have every right to hate homosexuals in your private life. It's just when you people try to legislate and bully people into your morality that I get angry. Now, if you had evidence that a homosexual advocate group was collecting photos and other information about street preachers with the intention of threatening or hurting you people, then sure I would have a problem with their behavior too. The thing is, there is no history of gay people organizing to oppress the religious majority. However, history does show that religious zealots will organize to oppress those they perceive to be infidels. In the interest of public safety and personal privacy, it make sense to prevent evangelical Christians from collecting photos of homosexuals. There is a realistic threat that someone in your group might stalk and hurt one of these homosexuals ... or a member of your group might "out" one of these homosexuals to expose them to discrimination or ridicule. OTOH, it seems the homosexual group is probably only keeping photos of you guys to protect themselves from you. It doesn't make any sense to prevent them from using photos of you, because they do not threaten you and you are not concerned about your privacy regarding evangelism. Again, if you have evidence of threats from this group, I apologize. There is a difference between your groups. The gay group wants to protect their rights. Your evangelical wants to restrict homosexual rights. Again, I'll compare your evangelical group to the KKK, and the homosexual group to the Southern Poverty Law Center. It makes sense to prevent your evangelical group from maintaining records of homosexual identities, because you are essentially a hate group. It doesn't not make sense to prevent the gay group from maintaining records on your group, because they are essentially a civil rights organization. They have good reasons to keep track of your hate group, while you have no good reason to keep track of homosexuals. Dan and Micah, I notice that you're getting caught up in the legalism of whether it is legal for you to maintain these photos. Please forget about the legality for a second and ask yourself whether or not your behaviour is sinful. I'm not asking you to accept, condone or endorse homosexual behaviour ... but I am asking you to love and respect your fellow human beings. If they have asked you to remove the photos, please remove the photos. Ask yourself "what good can come from maintaining these photos against their wishes?" I don't see any good that come from it, only bad. You'll have plenty more opportunities to rebuke their sins in real life. Please respect the wishes of the actual sinners. I hope your god "convicts you" on this issue.

Larry,
You are very naive about many things. I have preached at many homosexual parades. Do you know we always need police protection? Do you know which direction the police face? Take a guess. They stand with their backs toward the preachers, facing the homosexuals. Why? The homosexuals are the aggressors.
Many street preachers are assaulted every year just for exercising their right to a lawful assembly, and free speech. I can provide proof if you want it. These are parades where the street preachers are outnumbered probably 10,000 to 1 or probably more.
I have numerous times been threatened to be tracked down.
If you are so concerned about people like us being so dangerous to people who we disagree with, why do you post on here?
I am sure you would not condemn the quran and blaspheme Allah or Mohammed on a muslim fundamentalist website.
You know we are not like that. This is not to say that in the past hate crimes have not been done by people labeling themselves as Christians.
I was totally kidding about the judging part. You are wrong though about Christians not supposed to judge. Jesus told us to judge righteous judgment (John 7:24, 1 Corinthians 2:15).

Yes, and you are telling them that you hate them and that they are going to burn for their lifestyle. Of course they're not going to like you very much.
But in normal life, you homo haters outnumber them 1 million to 1, and they never go around saying that they hate your lifestyle and want you to convert to homoism. They leave you alone, until you go and poke their bee's nest.
In court, you would be considered the person that provoked the fight, and would thus be held most responsible.
So, yes, although these homos attacked you, you pissed them off. Hate them in the privacy of your own home, don't go and bring it to them. What they do isn't hurting anyone but their own asses (haha I made a funny). Stay home, don't piss people off. Especially people who just want their own rights.
Larry compares you to the KKK.
Micah is to KKK as Homo is to black man.
Two groups oppressed/are oppressing the others' rights. Two groups fought/are fighting for their rights.
Leave them alone, they're not harming you.

Larry, you are very naive about many things. ;D The irony. The gut busting IRONY. ;D I have preached at many homosexual parades. Do you know we always need police protection? Do you know which direction the police face? Take a guess. They stand with their backs toward the preachers, facing the homosexuals. Why? The homosexuals are the aggressors. Alright, darlin'. I'm sure you need police protection. Some little princess might scratch your eyes out. I'm being ironic of course. There are definitely some badass gay daddies out there who could break your kneecaps or cave your face in. Still, I do believe your exaggerating. If you require police protection, it probably has more to do with your spinelessness than the gay paraders' danger to you. People who are just (i.e. the gays in this context), tend to do the right thing. Many street preachers are assaulted every year just for exercising their right to a lawful assembly, and free speech. I can provide proof if you want it. These are parades where the street preachers are outnumbered probably 10,000 to 1 or probably more.[/qoute] Play with fire, brother ... I have numerous times been threatened to be tracked down. Ever heard of an empty threat? People make them all the time, sweetheart. If you are so concerned about people like us being so dangerous to people who we disagree with, why do you post on here? I don't fear for my safety, because I know I am a just and enlightened person. Why do I post here? Giggles, sugar. Just for the giggles. I am sure you would not condemn the quran and blaspheme Allah or Mohammed on a muslim fundamentalist website. Of course not. I don't speak Arabic or Farsi. Plus, that is an inefficient solution to the Islamic fundamentalist problem. You know we are not like that. This is not to say that in the past hate crimes have not been done by people labeling themselves as Christians. No, I don't. I have no idea what kind of evil you are capable of. I do this: people who believe they are righteous are capable of more evil than those who believe they are flawed. I was totally kidding about the judging part. You are wrong though about Christians not supposed to judge. Jesus told us to judge righteous judgment (John 7:24, 1 Corinthians 2:15). Oh, I got the joke. I believe you are wrong about the judging issue. I would agree, that a righteous man has an obligation to distinguish and identify evil ... but only to help his fellow man. Your judgement is vain. You judge to raise yourself above others by dragging people down. But what do I know ... I'm a heathen, right? I don't pray, but here's hoping you're realize your error in maintaining these photos against other people's wishes. If your God did exist, he would not answer your prayers to just to rationalize your sinful vanity.

LarryFlint...you see a video and say "You're evil!" Gues syou don't see the rest of the story huh? I'd post the 30 minutes every single night that I spend with a homosexual and show you how we can share truth and debate peacefully, but I'm sure he wouldn't appreciate that So, yeah, we stick to posting PUBLIC events, whether you think they are OK or not. As for private one2one friendships... well, you're just a little behind on that Larry We're also seeking the Lord for the lost on this forum, larry. Sure, words can be sharp and emotions can flare, etc etc... But at the end of the day, larry.... God is God and He loves you so much He offes eternal life to you. Do you want that life, Larry?
