Well, last night, a girlfriend of an old, old old friend wa staken to my home by my father.
She came in and told me how Steve (her BF) was and then I went to see Steve at their house for about 1 hour....the others there began lighting up some weed, so I asked Steve if he and I could leave, as I felt out of place...
I was able to minister for about 20 minutes to everyone there.
Steve introduced me as a minister, and that opened the door for questions!
Nothing major, but an exchange of ideas and thoughts were passed along and when they lit up, I stood to my feet and said, "I need to leave; no offence, I just don't do these things".....they had no problem with that.
Steve threw me his car keys and we drove to a sub stop and then to my home and I gave him one of my albums to pop into his far-2-expensive stereo system.
He blasted it and said his GF woul dprobably like it better lol...(It's instrumental)
He and Sarah asked me to marry them August 20th...
They have lived together for several years and now want to make it official.
Some say, "You shouldn;t marry fornicators".
If they were married they wouldn't be fornicators anylonger, is my idea....and the greater issue is salvation, not a particular sin, but the rejection of the Gospel.
I'm asking that you guys and girls would seek the Lord to allow me to minister to the wedding party, guests etc etc.
I will be witnessing now to Steve and Sarah up until wedding time and speaking with them on marital issues and relating that to Christ and His Church and how His People are His and His alone...etc etc.
I'm going to "seal the dea" just before they publically give their vows.
In a crowd they may feel pressured.
In private, not so.
Just before the actual wedding I will ask them to call out to God, as I will be evangelizing them until then.
I'm definately going to marry them, as it is better to marry than to burn *I'm not up for debate on the issue of marrying sinners because most of us would be illigitmate if OUR parents were not married until they became saved...so, for any hypocrite or pharisee reading this, save it*
I'm definately asking for godly prayer in leading these two to the Lord.
Steve's dad was a coke dealer, sarah is definately from a rough part of town and Steve himself was a crack addict but God's Grace rescued him....
These people are lost and are on hell's highway.
Pray that God would see fit to use me to see them birthed into the Kingdom of God through genuine repentance and godly sorrow over sin and the confession that Jesus Christ is Lord and that God has raised Him from the dead.
Amen.
