If you all can, would you please keep the family of TJ Barbieri and other firefighters and soldiers in your thoughts and prayers today and always.
TJ was special person. He wanted to be a hero more than anything else. He wanted to help. Of all the heroic occupations out there he chose 4 which he ranked as top. He wanted to be an Emergency Medical Tech (folks who ride the ambulance when you call 911)
A Firefighter
A Soldier
A Police Officer
Just over 5 years ago he joined the fire department. He became an EMT, went though fire school, and joined the army. Shortly before leaving for Iraq he put in a leave notice to the fire department requesting that when he come back from the military he be granted leave to go to the police academy. He was with the 82nd Airborne Division. They were ambushed. He returned fire and saved the lives of his entire group. He was killed.
He received the Purple Heart and Silver Star. He was buried with full Fire and Military Honors in Arlington National Cemetery.
I know he is not coming back but I struggle along with everybody else who knew him as to why. He died living his dream. In the Line of Duty. He wouldn't of had it any other way.
He died one year ago today, on August 23, 2006.
please pray for those remaining for the strength to go on.
I miss him, i love him.
TJ, please come back! Come home! Somehow show yourself if you are still around
thanks.
