Friday-
Three of us went out this night- Dallas, Clint, and me. It seemed to be a slower night, but still much witnessing was done. We met with the “Missouri brethren,” which use to be Mennonite before they were ex-communicated from them. We sang a couple of old Anabaptist hymns from the 17th century with them. They were great hymns. We then left the corner and went down the street. I preached in front of Zoolous (sp?). There is one angry Buddhist that comes out and heckles quite often. He got very mad and began telling me that the reason people hate me is because of karma. I found out that this bar is primarily a homosexual bar. I have seen many walking around this area of the street but never put it together. After the crowd died down we went down the street and ended up talking to a few people. After the Missouri brethren left, I decided to OA preach some more. Not long after I began a woman came up that was very mad. The Missouri brethren have a sign that says, “Man is in authority over women.” To say the least people don’t like their sign. The woman came up to us and said, “I know you guys don’t have that sign but you can tell the other to take their sign and shove it up….” She went on to say that all men were worthless and she was a Christian-single mom. I told her that all men were not worthless, that Jesus was a man. She said, “yeah well.. He is God. What do you think about men?” I said, “Most men are pigs and so are many women.” She got mad and started yelling that I was judging everyone. I asked her if murder was wrong and of course she said yes. I explained to her that she was a hypocrite if she judged murders as being wrong and told me it was wrong to judge. Not long after this she began to be in a rage and handed her purse to her friend. She then started trying to take my friends sign (which is OAO’s old Repent sign). He turned his back on her so she couldn’t get it. Dallas has a couple signs on his hand. She started punching them. She then grabbed the signs and bent them all up. I then said something to her ( I can’t remember what) and she charged me like a mad bull. If I wouldn’t have had my back to a wall she would have plowed me over. Somehow she didn’t knock me off the stool, maybe because I was so close to the wall... There was a window close and I’m glad it didn’t break. I only came away with a few small scratches on my arm from the bricks. Then I picked up a sign she bent, which said “Hypocrites will have greater condemnation.” I then held it high, although it was bent, and pointed out to everyone how she was a hypocrite because she called herself a Christian and acted like this. By this time we had a crowd around us. She and her friend walked across the street and then yelled at us and flashed us. Some Christians….
Saturday-
This night didn’t have any violence. Which I didn’t mind! I preached some and so did Clint. While Clint was preaching the police came and talked to the Buddhist at Zoolous. He was mad at us and the cops asked us to please not talk to him. They were very nice and didn’t even ask us to move. Clint is beginning to preach more. It is such a blessing to have another person to preach in the OA with you.
