Is there any proof to the contrary of what he said? Or rather any other history of this event?
I tend to think Phillip was alive and the divorce was not lawful.

Is there any proof we should take any of Josephus' words with ANY authority? Of course not.History is proof enough; Josephus is known, factually, as a traitor and his writings are also disputed due to parts being INSERTED by other authors and not himself.
This is simply fact, Josh.
The proof is Josephus' own words, which have been shown to be misleading by antiquity experts.
