I was listening today to The Way of the Master Radio program from April 10th and they had a caller who was doubting his salvation because he struggled alot with sin. I thought that this would provide a good discussion. Please listen to the conversation and subsequent comments by Todd Friel, Ray Comfort, and Larry Lea. www.wotmradio.com/2006/04/10/april-10-2006-hour-2/The man calls in at 23:20 and they talk about it until the end of the hour - about 30 minutes. For those who listen: What is your opinion of his spiritual state? Do you agree or disagree with the way it was handled? If this man came to you what would you say to him?

I haven't listened to the whole thing yet, but will. However, I thought that first part about the Muslim divorcing his wife in his sleep was pretty funny. I think I shared that with the OAO boys while they were here... I definitely plan on using that in an O/A in the future...

My opinion of his spiritual state is that he might not be saved. But he is well on his way if he sits and stays in his conviction with no one saying "Jesus understands he paid it all just pray the prayer and your okay". He is definately on his way, I dont think he has truly repented yet, but after that interview he is definately not far from the kingdom.
I think it was handled well, Friel, "stop it, just stop it" I like that, just stop sinning.
I would say close to the same thing, He needed to hear that he cant do it alone, only with the help of God can he conquor sin.

I listened to that and it reminded me of David Brainerd. I listened to his testimony awhile ago and I was struck because he would frequently have days when he would be so overwhelmed with how vile he he was and come to God in repentance. He did this throughout his entire walk. It helped me understand the issue of sin and a Christian a lot better because Brainerd was a man of God and he was not perfectly perfect, as in not ever sinning once since he was saved. And yet God used him SO powerfully. Here is a link to the audio book of The Life of David Brainerd. If you heave not read or listened to this I encourage you to do so. It will change your life. www.sermonaudio.com/search.asp?keyword=audio%20books&entiresite=trueAs for the radio show. I would probably assume that he was not a Christian and encourage him to seriously repent. I think I would do that just because if he isn't saved and I tell him he might be saved he would go to hell, but if he was saved and I told him to repent, I would not have given him any false assurance. I actually just had this experience, here is a link to what happened. openairoutreach.proboards52.com/index.cgi?board=tractsone2one&action=display&thread=1145161124Edit: I really agree with what Ray said about not giving Any provision for the flesh and how the fear of God makes us depart from evil. Thanks for posting this!
