Friday-
Not long after we got there, we seen the brethren from Missouri. We were all standing on the corner, and a man came out and said he was a "tavernist" i.e. drunkard. He said, "Oh yeah we are a lot alike! You have a preacher, we have a bar tender. You have an offering plate, we have a tip jar." He went on about some more "parallel's." He seemed to infer that being a tavernist was better because they were open everyday and church's are only open 2 days a week- Sunday and Wednesday. Then after he left, we were all just standing there with some signs. A man came out and just went down the line cussing and yelling at us. He went on for about 20 minutes or so. You couldn't really get a word in. Eventually the police came and made the man leave.
Friday nights seem to be so much louder than Saturday nights. It is a struggle fighting the club/bar music. We did get to do some preaching.
It seems like we had some good conversations, but for some reason I can't remember any. We usually stay out there for several hours, so sometimes I forget. Sorry!
Saturday-
I recorded some this night. I will try to get the recording up so if anyone wants to hear it they can. I've been praying and changing some on my preaching. I also have some recording of Clint and Lee, but I won't post it until they tell me it's alright. Our sandwich board is now, just 2 signs. Lee was holding the sandwich board in his hand, and an angry heckler named Dan ripped the straps off of it. I think Dan may be in some of the recordings. He followed us around for a little while. There was also another man that began mocking a lot. We seen him several times in the night. He almost got into a fight with another man that was asking me honest questions. The one asking honest questions just got out of "the pen" and was getting angry at everyone for mocking us. I thought he was going to hit one mocker. They got into a pretty heated discussion, and had to have other men hold them back from each other. I just sit back, there wasn't much I could do. I told them "You guys need some love in your heart!"
Here is some audio from Saturday night's preaching. Let me know what you think.
