Friday-
We didn't get to do a lot of OA preaching, but had several good one-2-one conversations. When we first got there one man came up to me and started talking about how the government had brainwashed us to act like this. Well, if the government was brainwashing everyone to be a Bible-obeying Christian, it is failing miserably. Eventually we knocked out several of his excuses, and he began to listen to what we were saying.
While I was preaching, a man came walking down the street warring an ape costume. So I began to preach how people live like animals- especially apes. That seemed to get some people's attention.
After this I had a very long conversation with 2 drunk (they said they were not drunk, but they were surely not completely sober) philosophers. It was too bad they were not completely sober because they weren't catching all I was saying.
I had another drunk girl try to act flirty with me. I don't know what the devil is thinking. Does he really expect me to fall into lust while I'm preaching against lust and holding a sign with scriptures? At first she came up asking questions about the sign, then started asking personal questions- my name, age, ect. She left not long after than, but while I was speaking to another guy she came up without me noticing and put her arm around me and thanked me. As soon as I turned to see who was touching me, she left. These drunk women need to repent and live holy! I've noticed how the devil has strong control over drunks.
Later on I had a good conversation with a guy that "agreed to the message, just not the method." Eventually conviction began to fall on him, and he knew everything I was saying was right.
Saturday-
Lee, Clint, and I all went out this night. We were able to do more preaching this night. At one bar, some hecklers opened up the window and we preached back and forth for quite awhile. Eventually I think one of them got convicted. You could tell by the way his heckling changed. There were a group of girls standing there and I asked them how many went to church. Several of them did. It was only a few weeks ago that one of the "church goers" cursed us out.
While I went into a sandwich shop to use the restroom, Clint was sitting outside waiting. He was just sitting there with the sign and a couple came up to him and started questioning him. They began to call Clint a hypocrite and other names. Clint was just sitting there calmly answering they questions while they would get angry. I walked out and talked to them for a few minutes. The man asked me if I had had coke in my face before. I thought he was going to throw it then, but eventually he calmed down, shook our hands, and left.
I sat down and another couple got out of their truck and started to ask us questions. She was drunk, but it was a very calm conversation. They said they "appreciated what we were doing" ect. While I was sitting there the man we talked to earlier walked by and threw his coke at me. I just sat there, wiped the ice off of me, and kept talking to the couple. I told them something to this effect, "when you are born again, you don't hate people when they do bad things to you. You love them." They were in utter shock. The woman wanted to go chase the man down and hit him. I told her she would do better to turn and serve Jesus.
After I dropped Clint off at his truck, I pulled out of the store and was struck by another car. Here is a thread with some photos.
