Friday-
I need to start writing the report for Friday night on Saturday. For some reason it is hard for me to remember all the went on Friday night. Friday and Saturday night always seems to blend together in my mind.
I had a man try to tell me that 17 chapters were missing from the "original Bible." I asked him what the "original Bible" was, but he either would not or could not tell me. He tried to turn it around and say that I should know about it, and since I didn't know what what chapters he was talking about (without him telling me) I was ignorant and shouldn't be out there. Hmm... I'm not sure he really knew what he was talking about. I know that the apocrypha is about 14 books, and I do not have that in my Bible. I think that may have been what he was talking about. He claimed that he has been filming me for the last 6 weeks and was telling me of things that I supposedly said. He said he is going to confront me about it again this weekend. We will see what happens.
Saturday-
We went to Eureka Springs because they were having a "Diversity Weekend." That is something like a homosexual celebration. I better name might very well be Perversity Weekend. Honestly, it wasn't as bad as I was expecting. There were several homosexual couples flaunting themselves, especially when the heard the preaching. There were also many families there. I think the families were just shopping. Eureka Springs is a tourist town. We preached for quite a long time, most of the afternoon. A policeman showed up and said he was getting complaints. Clint talked to him for awhile, and he left. We decided to go get something to eat and come back,
When we came back there really wasn't many people out, so we decided to come back to Fayetteville and preach on thingyson Street. Clint preached a good OA sermon which got a lot of attention. I preached for awhile about "the pride of life." I was preaching about how so many people will drive around revving up their motorcycles and cars just to show off. That got the attention of some bikers. At first they thought I was just pointing them out, which I really wasn't doing. As I was reasoning with them a man came up and started to contradict some of the things I was saying. I am guessing he was a oneness pentecostal. He was down there selling roses that light up or something. He called me a name- a Baptist. Of course I have no problem with Baptist, but that's not what I am. I don't like to be called a certain denomination. My affiliation is with Christ. He told me to speak in tongues to prove I was saved. I rebuked him by telling him to read his Bible because in 1 Cor 14 it tells you not to just go about speaking in tongues- especially in front of unbelievers. (without an interpretation of course.) He was filled with pride. How do I know? Because pride causes contention (Proverbs 13:10). Even the sinners started saying "see they can't even agree." Then he went to tell Clint that he went down to Marti Gras and wore a clown suit and handed out tracts. I think we have enough clowns in the church, we don't need that! He went on to tell how many miracles happened down there- healings an such.
After he left the bikers were still there and the more I reasoned with them the more the seemed convicted. Overall our conversation was very good.
