I've done it several times. It's always good to have atleast one other person with you. Jesus sent them out by 2 for a reason. But I don't think it's wrong to preach by yourself or anything.

Certainly it is better to go with someone else, especially if police are going to harrass you. If you have to go by yourself, and you expect police harrassment, at least bring a recording device.
Preaching alone is not ideal but sometimes necessary. I regularly preach by myself downtown. I have preached at South Beach before with just my wife, but I am very careful.

I havn't personally tried it before. I think it is always good that you have someone with you so they can intercept any distractions eg) police, violent heckler etc.

I have preached alone, and found it to be alot harder than with a partner.

I might suggest a few vignettes at your local wal-mart or gas station. You know, a brief sermonette on repentance and salvation and obedience. This will kind of break you in with small crowds when preaching solo.
I call them venyah's, actually, in honor of Michael, our friend.
Certainly, he lives the great comission.

Yes, He certainly does.
I went to kind of test the waters at the fair grounds yesterday and was told by the police that it ws within my rights, and by the fair staff that they would escort me off the premises.
Preaching alone is very hard. as I walked the grounds, I couldnt help but think of this, I am extremely outnumbered. But greater is He that is in me. The devil surely does attack the lone preacher, he attacked me more yesterday than I have been in a LONG time. I usually have at least someone there in prayer, but no one else ever preaches.
Thanks for the cousel brethren. Keep it coming.

I've preached alone more times then I can count.
It's always more encouraging to go with other brothers.
But I deffinately feel much more of a connection with the Lord, and more of a dependancy upon Him, during those times that I preach alone.
I honestly don't like it sometimes when there are many believer around, because I feel that I am put under their microscope and judged. But when I'm alone, I feel more at liberty to simply focus on pleasing God and preaching His Word to a lost and dying people.
Other Christians sometimes bother me, because I feel that if I truly preach for the Lord, some of them will try to confront and correct me afterwards for preaching how Jesus preached.
But if you can get a team together of biblically sound open air preachers, who will encourage you rather then just nit pick and criticize you, preach with that team as often as you can!

Thanks for the encouraging words, as the friend I used to street preach with has moved to Georgia... I also have found it much harder to go out and preach alone... I just keep praying to the Lord of the harvest, to raise up more workers... In the mean time I will carry on alone...
Thanks again for the encouragement, Jim

On the tour with Miles and Jesse it was very good to be around them all the time when we were preaching...at the end of the day we could give constructive criticism, encouragement, praise reports and learn to grow in our preaching.
A great "review" is the "Stop, Start, Continue" review. Where, reflecting over the day and the preaching you can figure out what you should "stop doing, what you should start doing, and what you should continue to do."
Miles and I could also run down anyone who tried to steal our signs. haha (J/k) Except for that one time in Conway...when they took em when none of us were paying attention. :-P

If you had God, I would think that that would be all the encouragement and support you could ever want or need!
Shows what I know. Guess your God isn't powerful enough to endow y'alls with the ability to preach alone. So sad.

If you had God, I would think that that would be all the encouragement and support you could ever want or need! Shows what I know. Guess your God isn't powerful enough to endow y'alls with the ability to preach alone. So sad. Again, I cant expect you to understand. Christianity is not a solitary religion. Solitude is for solitary time alone with God. But in the harvest field, where the numbers are greatly stacked against us, and the devil uses his agents to attack us, it is always good to have someone else there for prayer. Also, to be biblical, Jesus sent preachers out by twos. Cervy, You really must realize that with your mocking, scoffing and deliberate nonsense you are simply storing up for yourself wrath against the day of wrath. God is terribly angry at you. His wrath abides on you, but of course, you really dont care. You will one day though, when you stand before the judgement seat of Christ and Jesus calls to judgement you lying, stealing, lust, drunkenness, and other sin. Except you repent you will perish, turn to Jesus Christ and obey Him. Evan

Cervvy: There are many biblical illustrations and principles of the need of fellowship with other believers, working in teams, and helping one another.
It shows the exact opposite of a supposed "weakness" in God...it shows His wonderful design of how the Church is supposed to work as a body, many parts working together in harmony as one.
Preaching alone or with others I do not think has anything with the ability that God endows a person to preach with. If someone is RELYING on another person so they can preach well, then that individual needs to examine his heart and see if he's really called to be a preacher or not.
God is indeed our all sufficient source of grace, inspiration, encouragement and learning...But He has also instructed us to help one another so we could learn to work together and be that expression of His church.
