When it comes to discussing doctrine on this message board, do you come on here just to "prove people wrong" or "just to prove Jesse wrong?" I see a lot of drive by shooting these days. People come on here to try to prove someone or something wrong and don't stay around to discuss it. They aim at ad hominen attacks instead of actually discussing the doctrines. People seem to be constantly defending sin and those who defend sin. I have been reading George Fox's autobiography lately and this is what he encountered time and again: people defending sin and sinners and coming against holiness. Is there something in your life that isn't right that you are doing this? Are you trying to fit the Bible to your own experience or are you try to live up to the Bible by the power of the Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit wrote down the Holy Bible through Holy Men and these Holy Men talk about Holiness! If you have no interest in Holiness, then you might as well put down the Bible and stop trying to fit it to your own life...

You make a good point Kerrigan. It's obvious that some have a personal grudge against Jesse and this shows up when they post. It is possible to fervently disagree with someone in a loving manner. Posts that are full of sarcasm and mocking only make the poster look immature. I believe that the purpose of this section is to have mature Christian doctrinal discussions! If you can't do that maybe you shouldn't post here Steve

It does seem like I'm always being singled out ("Question for Jesse" or "I Challenge Jesse") when there are many brethren on these boards who agree with me on these different doctrinal issues. But when those brethren enter the debates, it seems like their questions and comments are ignored and the person only wants to try to debate with me. This certainly shows an insincerity on their part.
Very well said. And that George Fox example shows that there is nothing new under the sun. "Sinning Saints" have always hated the teachings of holiness, they cannot tolerate the message of perfection.
"But the professors were in a rage, all pleading for sin and imperfection, and could not endure to hear talk of perfection and an holy and sinless life." George Fox (Journals, pg 18)
A serious problem today is that you will hear preachers, from the pulpit, preaching against holiness but yet they will not preach against sin. They will say, "you can't be perfect, nobodies perfect, were only human, we have a sin nature, we don't have a free will, God's laws are impossible" and on and on their excuses go. But they won't say a word condemning the sin of the community, or condemning the sin of their congregation.
