And just to think, it hasn't evolved any in all these years... Yeah, cuz, you know ... evolution works just like they say on Pokemon.

What does "Pwned" mean anyway? I see it all over the place. I am afraid to know the answer.

pokemon is stupid. i am not sure how people watch it, or dragon ball z. i understand christians protest it. i know that pokemon is supposed to represent japanese, or chinese, demons of some kind...but other than that...it looks harmless. there is no value in it, therefore, its not worth watching--that goes for about nine-tenths of television.
miles, i am with you on the 'pwned' lingo. i do not understand it, grammatically, it makes no sense, and it reminds me of 'pawned.' you just got pawned, or sold into slavery, maybe? haha.
i wonder who dreams this crap up?

Words like "pwned" are part of "Leet-speak" ... the slang of internet video gamers. There's actually nothing dirty about that one. If you want dirty, do a google image search for: "tubgirl.com" "goatse.cx" "HAI2U.com" "lemonparty.org" "lastmeasure.com" Internet culture at its best.

I don't know if you are serious or not. But if you are not, bear with me. Internet slang like "pwned!" is not an attempt to save time or "be lazy," since the letters that comprise both "pwned" and "owned" are still the same amount, but rather to manufacture and make comic a mistyped word, and that creates a sense of community and creative license in speaking to each other. The irony/humor is that what looks like an idiot typo is really intentional.
BTW: On Pokemon the animals reach a certain level of ability and instantly evolve into a the next version of their "species," doing what would take millions of years scientifically in the span of a second.
It's an okay show, but terrible execution. A 22-minute commecial with bad guys that are wasted potential. Too bad.

slang today, vernacular tomorrow.
Language is a true evolving thing. It changes and grows and all that jazz. Look at the difference of language between now and 20 years ago? After that, then imagine how different the language of today was compared to that of, say, 2000 years ago?! *gasp*

Interesting, I was just at the San Diego Zoo last Saturday and there was this "warthog" type animal that the guide said scientists believed was extinct since "the ice age" and was found happy and well in the Amazon rain forest. Hmmm, no evolution there either.

kids, animals do not have to evolve. they only evolve if they need to evolve. besides, you all forget that evolution is a theory with a lot of holes in it--like your religion. so, i see nothing for your kids to complain about.

The way I understand it is that some gamer was attempting to type "owned" but missed the "o" and typed the "p" next to the "o" on the keyboard. Somehow the typo version stuck thereafter. I have no idea where I picked up this bit of mindless info...so don't ask! Mostly, I guess, this is pure geek stuff.
