Crouch Answers Oakland the Coward's Way APOSTASY ALERT - By Jackie Alnor - August 9, 2006 - TBN president Paul Crouch would not respond to the recent letter written to him by Roger Oakland [See www.understandthetimes.org/paulcrouch.shtml ] regarding TBN's blatant support of the false gospel of Catholicism. However, I think they are responding to him indirectly tonight. Roger, if you're looking for Paul's answer, watch TBN tonight (Wed., Aug. 9th) during their regular Praise the Lord time [see the lineup on TBN's site: www.tbn.org/index.php/2/5.html (sadly you'll notice that evangelist Kirk Cameron hosts PTL tomorrow night -- someone needs to get through to him and his mentor Ray Comfort)]. TBN is airing an old film, "The Shoes of the Fisherman" that glorifies the Roman papacy. Here's the plot summary: The Shoes of the Fisherman (1968/I) After twenty years in a Siberian labor camp, Kiril Lakota, the Metropolitan Archbishop of Lvov, is set free. The Catholic Archbishop is released and sent to Rome, where the ailing Pope makes him a Cardinal. The world is in a state of crisis - a famine in China is exacerbated by United States restrictions on Chinese trade and the ongoing Chinese-Soviet feud. When the Pontiff dies, Lakota finds himself elected Pope. But the new Pope Kiril I is plagued by self-doubt, by his years in prison, and by the strange world he knows so little about. This movie contains extensive information about Catholic faith & practice, as a television news reporter steps in from time-to-time to explain the procedures involved in selecting a new Pope www.apostasyalert.org/

They didn't even mention Catholicism on Praise the Lord and they both take a very strong stand against Catholicism... I think that what si meant is that Ray and Kirk should not associate with such filth as TBN. There are other satelite channels which they could be on, etc etc. They may be "against" anything under the sun, yet you won;t see them proclaiming ANY of it on TBN. If they do, we all know what will happen. They'll get pulled from TBN. So I believe that some concerns are genuine. If Ray and Kirk can produce teachings against false gospels, why can;t they teahc the same on TBN..even once in a blue moon? So the concerns are legitimate. They should stand up for Truth no matter where they are, in the same way they do in video.

hehe not too many comments on this thread...
I'm wondering iof the names ray and kirk were not present, but some unknown minister....would the comments be on the lines of, "Heretics!"
?
Since it's ray and kirk, eithe rno one comments or the comments are in defence of TBN..and from people who would otherwise curse TBN.

We must always look to God alone and not man. Paul Washer is also on TBN line up. I dont watch it but it would be awesome if they did show up the false on the set!!

Lately other Christians have been given me a hard time for being willing to speak at some upcoming open air conferences.
They say that the only reason I should go is if I am going to directly preach against the other preachers that will be there. Preachers that these specific Christians do not like.
But rather then doing that, I'm just going to preach whatever God tells me to preach.
With Ray and Kirk on TBN, sure there are a lot of false teachers on TBN. But TBN allows Ray and Kirk to have a show.
They do preach against the false gospel of "God loves you and has a wonderful plan for your life" but they are not naming names or speaking against the very people that are allowing them to speak. Their emphasis is not simply what they are AGAINST but what they are FOR. They don't merely preach against the false gospel, but they promote the true gospel. And it's by teaching the true gospel, that you ultimately come against the false gospel.
I see wisdom in that. Because the door remains open, and they are still able to get the message out that God has entrusted to them to get out.
If I'm at a baptist Church, I'm not going to speak out against everything wrong with the baptists. Rather, I will speak whatever God tells me to speak. And if he tells me to do that, then I'll do that.
If I'm at an open air conference, I won't speak out against everything wrong with the conference. I will simply speak whatever God tells me to speak. Unless God tells me to speak out against certain things.
Basicly it comes down to, "do whatever he tells you to do."

I agree! I am sure they will say something of truth. If we speak truth it makes evident what is false without naming names. Thats how the false is shown up for what it is.

Jesse, I am not trying to start an argument or major debate here but what do you mean by this statement.
I fellowship at an Independent Baptist KJV only church but label myself as a Bible believing Born Again Christian. Sometimes if asked I will call myself a Converted 'Catholic' since, as far as I am aware, I have never officialy been ex-communicated.
I would really like to know what you think is wrong with 'Baptists'. Bearing in mind that the term Baptists is very broad. Which specific group are you talkinig about?
If you prefer, send me a private email.

Dan,
An example would be a recent engagement I had at a baptist Church. The theology of the church is calvinist.
They had me speak about my open air ministry and I exhorted the church to become active in private prayer and also in public preaching in order to save souls from hell.
At the evening service, it was question and answer time. People started asking about predestination, and even the Pastors wife said things like "We don't have free will. So we don't even choose to do evil. That's not our fault. It's not our choice." And also said things like, "You can't stop sinning. You are just always going to sin." etc etc.
In a normal setting, I would speak out against these things. And you might disagree with me, but I simply felt it was not the time or the place. There is a proper time and place. I figured, they already invited me here to speak, my message about prayer and evangelism was very well recieved, I have delivered the message I felt God put on my heart, so maybe I'll just leave this one alone.
Theologians have been debating these issues for hundreds of years and I highly doubted I would persuade them all in just a few minutes. So I avoided that debate, and just shared the message impressed on my heart.

I watched the file above and have seen that the program on TBN was 100% Biblical and POWERFUL.
I was wrong.

Thanks for the explanation.
I just thought you had a problem with 'everything' Baptist.
I don't agree with 'Calvanist' Baptist's either. I would have done the same as you.
