Florida is all up in smoke today. We have forest fires burning all over Florida and into Georgia. I wonder if it ever occured to unbelievers why God is not sending rain.
It's something to behold.Ive never seen it this bad in my 20 years of living in Florida. It's hard to tell what the weathers like because you can't see the sky.It looks cloudy out but I think it's just the smoke. You feel like you can't breath at times. My managers eyes were burning today and we were inside.

Interesting. I was thinking this morning about "global warming". If people are ready to do whatever it takes to correct a perceived problem....even 'sacrificing' creature comforts....to save the earth, would they be equally willing to do whatever it takes to correct, or repent of 'causing' God's wrath...if they were convinced that because we have repeatedly violated His commandments....He is sending correction.
would they be willing to repent of ungodly attitudes? Would they change their stance on the murder of pre-born babies (God's gift to us) or demanding that the abomination of homosexuality be accepted by society?
Also wondering....peace, dmatic

Gov. Charlie Crist last week said he wants to negotiate a deal that would bring Las Vegas style gambling casinos into Florida in order to boost revenues.I don't think it's any coincidence a week later that we have all these forest fires.I also believe we are going to have a really bad hurricane season this year.On top of the forest fires there is this huge breeze of wind that has come in and is spreading these fires and also eroding away hundreds of feet off the palm beach coast line. These waves are just pounding away at the beaches.

I hope you understand that you're a very special child to think that a non-christian would ask why god is not sending rain.....

This, right here, is exactly what I, and millions upon millions of other, absolutly despise about Christianity. God not sending rain because of sin? God allowing fire to burn, to consume, people's lives, their homes, and everything they ever had, based off of some casinos?
You think one and a half years ago, God murdered over 100,000 inncoent people in Indonesia with a tsunami? You think that he tries to destroy cities all around the Pacific Rim each year with countless earthquakes? You think that the 3,000 plus people who died in New Orleans during Katrina, many of them dirt poor with no where else to go, deserved to die and that God killed them? Do you believe that over 3,300 of our fighting men and women over in Iraq have deserved to die?
I say no, to all of these. One because I am agnostic. Two because the god that I used to believe in would not allow that to happen. Yes, people die, it happens. And yes, sometimes innocent people die who did not deserve to. But is this "god" sowing vengence over the people who are his "children"? Or does it seem more logical that, if there is a supernatural cause to all of this, that it would be the "devil" causing it, instead of "god"?
Also, let me ask you this, one who is so sure that natural disasters are brought by the wrath of god. Studies have shown and proven that the most devout believers come from the south. Why then would that area be hit with more hurricanes, tornadoes, and natural disasters than any other part of the country?

I heard this same argument during Katrina. The theory was that God was destroying a wildly sinful area (New Orleans) and was pouring out his wrath on the Mississippi gulf coast because of......you guessed it....gambling casinos.
Does this make sense? Las Vegas, which is one of the first few cities thought of when it comes to "sinful cities" is doing just fine. On the other hand, El Reno, OK was hit by a tornado a few days ago and I am pretty sure that town has more Churches than liquor stores.
I don't think that the things that we see today are a example of God's judgement on the wicked. He created the earth, and with it weather. Things happen, and many times the natural disasters do great good for a area, though it may be hard to see that in the short term.
I feel certain that when the Earth does see God's judgement, there isn't going to be any argument about what it is.

The law of God has dominion over a man as long as he lives-Rom.7:1 and that includes Deut. 28.

I was just thinking...The law of God has dominion over a man as long as he lives-Rom 7:1
Which means if he dies without Christ he goes to hell where there is no law! The wicked should be grateful that there is law in that since.Better that they would live on earth under the law of God than go to hell where there is lawlessness!

Florida has 235 wildfires burning right now! Some are not burning as large as others obviously but the whole state is on fire in every area of Florida.

It's tragic that there are so many wildfires, I hope there won't be too much loss for the people who live there or for the environs of the lovely state. However, I'm always quite leery when people ascribe disaster to some specific punishment God is meting out. Doesn't even suggesting that require a leap of logic and hubris that assumes man is able to know God's mind? When Robertson expounded on the 9/11 tragedy being punishment for homosexuality for instance, or the claims from some religious leaders about Katrina being punishment for sin in NO.
Doesn't anyone else feel like, if there is an all-powerful God who is planning all the events of the world, that attempting to claim to know this God's mind and reasons behind every action is at best foolish and at worst actively dangerous? Wouldn't God's thoughts, by necessity, be beyond the mind of men?
