You didn't list any candidates from the Democratic party.

Here was an interesting video that I came across today, and I am in no way promoting "Barack Obama," but due to my prejudices against him I figured it best to post this video. my.barackobama.com/page/invite/mlkvideoIn Christ Matt P.S: What do you think about it?

John Edwards is the only Democrat who stood up to the Gay/Lesbian Alliance and stated that he did not support Gay Marriage.
Ron Paul is a racist. Giuliani is a tyrant-wannabe. Huckabee wants to completely throw out the United States Constitution, and rewrite it. I am a Christian; but the far right scares the hell out of me.

I think it is a good thing to get the "HELL" scared out of people; especially CHRISTIANS.

If you are a Christian, then you should be slow to accuse someone (especially a humble brother in the LORD that you have never talked with) that they are something as a vile as a racist! Ron Paul is not a racist. Educate yourself on HIS writings and stance and don't just regurgitate CNN headlines. More black people support Ron Paul than any other GOP candidate. www.ronpaul2008.com/issues/racism/www.ronpaul2008.com/press-releases/15/ron-paul-is-highest-polling-republican-among-black-voters/www.youtube.com/watch?v=Mo4cEVt8UQ8www.youtube.com/watch?v=7ji_Ft23BDwAnyone that has listened to Ron Paul would know that he is sincere in his claims that he is not a racist. www.prisonplanet.com/articles/january2008/011308_not_racist.htmNAACP President: Ron Paul Is Not A Racist Linder says Paul being smeared because he is a threat to the establishment Paul Joseph Watson Prison Planet Sunday, January 13, 2008 Austin NAACP President Nelson Linder, who has known Ron Paul for 20 years, unequivocally dismissed charges that the Congressman was a racist in light of recent smear attempts, and said the reason for him being attacked was that he was a threat to the establishment. Linder joined Alex Jones for two segments on his KLBJ Sunday show this evening, during which he commented on the controversy created by media hit pieces that attempted to tarnish Paul as a racist by making him culpable for decades old newsletter articles written by other people. "Knowing Ron Paul's intent, I think he is trying to improve this country but I think also, when you talk about the Constitution and you constantly criticize the federal government versus state I think a lot of folks are going to misconstrue that....so I think it's very easy for folks who want to to take his position out of context and that's what I'm hearing," said Linder. "Knowing Ron Paul and having talked to him, I think he's a very fair guy I just think that a lot of folks do not understand the Libertarian platform," he added. Asked directly if Ron Paul was a racist, Linder responded "No I don't," adding that he had heard Ron Paul speak out about police repression of black communities and mandatory minimum sentences on many occasions. Dr. Paul has also publicly praised Martin Luther King as his hero on many occasions spanning back 20 years. "I've read Ron Paul's whole philosophy, I also understand what he's saying from a political standpoint and why people are attacking him," said Linder. "If you scare the folks that have the money, they're going to attack you and they're going to take it out of context," he added. "What he's saying is really really threatening the powers that be and that's what they fear," concluded the NAACP President.

It's kind of a interesting year, isn't it? Truth is that there are NO candidates that will COMPLETLEY cover all of the areas that will make true Christians happy. Gay marriage and abortion are two hot button issues for Christians. As some one else here mentioned there are both Democrats and Republicans that will say no to gay marriage. Abortion is another animal. My political views are often criticized by my Christan friends because I am a democrat. The issue most often brought up is that the Democrats support the "right to choose" movement. I agree that this is awful, but frankly....find a Republican who will stand in the public and say, "abortion is murder and I will do everything in my power to get rid of it". Not going to happen. The normal response is, "well personally I am against abortion, but I think the States need to make that decision." So on one side, you have a group that is, to some extent, for right to choose and on the other you have a group that will do nothing about it. It's pretty much a wash. Though I am a Democrat, I find myself most closley aligned to the ideas of Huckabee. I don't agree with everything he has said, but he is, for the lack of a better term, lesser of the evils. I want to like Ron Paul....I really do, but the truth about Ron Paul is that he has lots of great ideas but no plan for executing them. Paul was asked on the tonight show (and about half a dozen debates) how do you plan to end the war? His response is, "just bring them home" then he starts ranting about the war being illegal. I agree with him, but it doesn't change the fact that saying, "just bring them home" is completley unrealistic. We never should have been there, but the region that we are in would be destablized worse than it already is and cause some serious problems for the world economy. I kept hoping to hear him give a 6 or 12 month withdrawl plan, but it never happens. He just says...get them out of there. Ron Paul also would like to abolish the IRS. It's one of the platforms that he runs on. That would be great.......but how is he going to do it? He even admitted earlier in the year that it is unlikey that it could be done Again, I like the guy, but he is running a buzzword campaign with no real plans of how do the things that he wants to do. Yes, I know that the conspiracy junkies like Alex Jones favor him because of his views on National ID, IRS abolishment, and anti-NAFTA, but lets face it. If the tin foil hats guys support him....doesn't it make you want to take a closer look at the guy?? No offense PACP...still love ya! ;D I like Obama.....again, not in favor of his views on gay marriage and abortion rights, but he is just a little further left than I am comfotable with. Also a bit worried about his youth and lack of experience. So, at the end of the day it's probably going to be Huckabee for me.

The courts have already set a precedent in place that there must be a stipulation for the health of the mother before any restrictions can be placed on abortion. If Christians, and even non-Christian pro-lifers out there (yes, they do exist), want to take any victory away from this fight; they may have to live with a stipulation in place for the health of the mother. Abortion will never be outlawed completely.
That is the reality of the situation.

Tony, I do not believe we will ever see that come to past. Which part? :-) Archangel---I agree with you, but it doesn't really stop there. Are any of the candidates running on a platform of elimiating abortion except when the mother's life is endangered? No....Again, some say that don't like it, but still won't touch it as it is a political third rail. My only point is that I have eliminated abortion as a issue to consider in political candidates because none of them are going to do any less or any more about it.

Very true, tony. I took the court's decision against partial-birth abortion as the closest we can concieve of a victory at this point.
BTW, you can call me Arch.

Barak Obama was not my first chocie for President. I would have taken Kuchinich, Edwards or even (incredible as it may seem) Ron Paul.
I know two things, first with the book business and such picking up, we are looking to head for South America for part of the year every year (hopefully finding a spot missionairies have not reached yet, so when I am drinking one of those drinks with a little umbrella in it, watching bullfights and writing even more books and indy films you all just enjoy the upcoming years in the USA.
Second, the two terms with the Decider and your brother in Christ in the office have been an utter disaster and couldn't have been worse if Nicolai from Left Behind was running the show.
Just figuring who, out of The Three Stooges now left in the running, I am going with Obama as the one who will foul up this already messed up country in tis current condition the least and seeing how all of you seem dead set against him helps clinch it for me. He is the one , though not even my third choice, I want.
And please, please , please, whatever you do, don't get the inspriation to become misisonaires in Peru, Uruguay, Argentina or Bolivia. Thanks.

James Dobson became the most recent high level evangelist to attack Obama today.
All the more reason to vote for Obama.
