Hey all,
I need some advice. I've obviously exposed much of my self on this site already. And I must admit I learned so much from you all, hence why I'm asking for help.
I am in a situation where I have a Muslim friend who asks me to talk philisophically with him all the time. He understands that I have a 'deep' mind. I ultimately want to convince to him that Jesus is the only way to feel right on this earth and to go to heaven. Now I have talked to him once, and I have already knocked into him that Jesus is the centre of everything for my life.
He found all I had to say was great and he mentioned that he looked up at Jesus as just a prophet. I got kinda discomforted with that, I wanted to argue with him, luckily we got disruppted by time and we agreed to continue our discussion at a later time.
I do want to keep my friendship with the guy, he is a nice person.
What do I do? (I already plan on bringing a Bible with me next time I talk to him)

It wouldn't hurt for the both of you to read the bible together for a few hours. That would be good.

I think if you listened to this message it would really make the Gospel crystal clear. www.livingwaters.com/listenwatch.shtmlIt is Hell's Best Kept Secret by Ray Comfort. It explains why so many people come to Christ for wrong motives and fall away and also shows us how to biblically present the gospel in a way that makes sense, the way it was designed. Let me know what you think when you give it a listen. Oh yeah, and a great verse to show a muslim to show who Jesus really is, is Isaiah 9:6. It is good because muslims will take Isiaih as a prophet and it shows that He is both the son of God and God himself. (Not to mention that it is a prophecy that is hundreds of years old before the birth of Christ) Contending earnestly for the faith, Miles

An update:
Hey all, just wanted to give some update on the witnessing with the fellow friend.
I got to have lunch with him again and started talking about the upcoming elections in Canada. I carefully converted the topic into religion, and then religion into Jesus.
I had a Bible in my hand, but I realized it was a "Gideon Bible" ! Ahh! I usually use the NRSV!
I wanted to read something from the book of Revelations, but couldn't cause that was in lacking in the Gideon version.
However, I started to ask him what he really thought about Christ, and I wanted to know what he thought about his teachings. He told me that his teachings were perfect, but he didn't get why Jesus was not a very rich and powerful person, who gave no doubt to people about his presense. I wanted to laugh, but deep down inside me I was whispered by Christ to hold on and ask another question.
So I asked him what would you consider the true son of man.
He said he would wear a very nice shirt, have many wives, be very rich and successful, be perfect looking.
So I asked if he thought possibly that 'the son of god' was a common Hollywood actor, being all of what you said above......he answered: not exactly......i told him if that he did think that way, then he should be a scientologist.....lol
So then I asked him, are all of those things you said really important? Do you think you don't have the potential to be rich, have many wives, have nice shirts, and be rich/sucessful, and still carry your soul?
He said: possibly?!
Then I said this to him: look buddy, if your idea of Christ is something like that, then he is living in hollywood. But if your idea of the Son of God is:
a person whom knows no sin, does no evil deeds, can relate to all sinners, can relate to all things, can be the one to help you through the toughest imaginable situations, will turn the other cheek for you, will die for you, would weep for you, pray for you, would be longsuffering for you, would really love you in ways you need it most, would forgive your sins, will dine with you, laugh with you, make you understand things, make you feel and care for others, make you want to be perfect through him and with him, make you a fisherman of man, help you win souls, help you understand eternity, make you feel really good inside ......
....then you just need to open up your eyes and realize that he came 2000 years ago and he asks you to believe in him, no matter what religion or culture you were born into.
Jesus is here and Jesus is knocking on your door everyday, through the poor, through the needy, are you answering to that?
Although you are a muslim, is it not humane to ignore a friend who cares about your soul.
He was literally speechless. -------- We got interupted again by a friend and then by time.
He is most likely thinking about what I had said to him.
-----------
Any Biblical/personal advice for the next 'talk'?
God bless all you soul winners,
-Rom
