I am student at ualr... i am a christian and i love JEsus. I have known him since i was 15 and have lived a life surrendured to him since.
I hear your "preaching" i guess that is what you would call it and you say you base it of of scripture in Acts... right... how about loveing people like Jesus because he is our example... he the one who made it possible to gain savation and he came to serve not to stand up on a podium and yell and argue with people who do not belielvce in christ... The Christians at this school have to pray and help lead peopel to the lord while you guys galavant around missusing the word.. and condeming people... and we are left with the broken and hard hearted people to deal with .. i know many people who your condeming and self-rightous attitudes have harmed and i have had to deal with some of it becausei love the people here...
you guys beat your bible around yet do not use it, you use rehursed sermons about spring break which i heard all 3 of you use same things over and over... that is not the Holy Spirirt./.. He does the convicting.. not you... God does the saving ... .not you... and if you weren't there he would use other so do not speak of your selves like you are doing us favor by traveling and preching condemnation... all i heard... was you drunk, you sleeper, you fornicator... jesus said " let those who are with out sin cast the first stone..." .. we all sin eveyday.. ( i am not talking habitual sin...)... we are all not perfect in our bodies... and our flesh... but christ blood has covered us... why don't preach that ... why don't be real with people .. and act like human not holier than thou super humna who have been a crappy situation... you like we have to come clean before we can come to Christ... Hello he is the one who cleans us! GRACE... LEarn it! SEEK IT... IT is WHAT ALLOWS us to MEET WITH CHRIST! Your " witness" makes those of use who are christian and live our lives with christ like and open book appear like fools iddiots and crziy irrelevant mindless fools who are heartless. People know we are chirtian by our LOVE for oneanother.
thank you !

Turn the other cheek, excuse the insult, even though you did insult brother Jesse and Miles. I fear that you do not know what it is the Bible teaches about holiness, mr./mrs student from the school. Please study to show yourselves approved, and then return to discuss, not throw stones and insulting comments. God bless you and I hope you one day see the truth.

Of coarse you were speaking from the experience of your own personal life.
If sinning every single day is not a plank, then I don't know what is. Don't you think you should remove the plank from your own eye before trying to correct someone else?

Hey student, thanks for coming and sharing your opinions. Have you head Hells Best Kept Secret at livingwaters.com??? I'm Christian, and I've heard Miles and Jesse preach, yet I have no problem with the words they speak. Tell me, when was the last time you were bold enough to open your mouth and proclaim the good news of salvation to the unsaved? How exactly would you go about it?

actually i share my faith very regularly... but i have learned that in the environment i am in ... it more effective to build relationships and then share..people take you more serious and more to heart not just words floating through the air... people at work and in classes come to me regularly for wisdom which i have to rely on the Holy Spirit to give the words... and just this mornning i got to shre Chirst with a girl i work with... short end of a long story... she does not know the Lord neither does here boy friend and recently has become addicted to pain pills and have become abusive verbaly... i listen i prayed with her this morning and let her know that only with Christ will she be able survive this and only with Christ will her boyfriend turn from his addiction... only through Salvation... speaking the word of God boldly ... does not always require yelling... it does require that we listen and be sensitive to the Spirit... Does this answer you question...? if not please let me know what else i could answer. i think we as christians have to come to a balalce in grace and law, because to much of both makes for either hell, fire, brimstone preaching, or pansy christians... as far as holiness goes..i understand the need to be holy just a christ is holy it is what separates us from the world... living our lives differently in the world, but you have to live openly and honoestly as well with your.. confronting sin is apart of that ...it should be in the live of a christian daily and repentance as well... but we also cannot segragate our selves so much that we are relevant in the shpere of influence we have around us. ... and i remark to the spell ing i am not and english major.. art and film are my things... so sorry about the poor writing...!

I am a Christian also and their preaching doesn't offend me at all. I think it is great. I don't sin anymore either.

I'm glad you posted a reply, but a couple of my questions went unanswered. So, what exactly do you say when you "share your faith very regularly"?

for the most part... i always try and mention where i have been, what my life was like befor christ... talk about his death burial and resurection... affirm that what sin is and that we are born with it in to it and only through repntance does salvation come... pople have seen how my life is different at work... sometimes they don't understand why i don't go party... duse the same language they do... salt and light. sometimes r=they look at me like they don't understand why i live the way i do you sometime mystery draws people to wonder why.. taht is when ask why i live the way i do. are you wanting to know if i go through a track every time, no do whip out my constantly ... no.. but it is always at if needed becaseu i am not big fan of taking the word out of context. alos not is just speaking do we share the gospek but but meeting peoples needs... Jesus not only addressed peoples sin but he met physical needs as well.

About meeting needs, did you see the whole sweater and money in my wallet thing? From the above though it sounds like we may be preaching pretty much the same message of repentance and faith in Jesus Christ. I mean this in the most sincere way, you should really give a listen to the message "Hell's Best Kept Secret" by Ray Comfort on www.LivingWaters.com. It radically changed my life and I think it may give you more courage and power in witnessing to your friends. Preacher in the green button down shirt, Miles

There were more than a couple students on this campus that loved what we were doing. I had given one guy my contact information and he just called a little while ago to see how we were doing here in Tennesee and to encourage us and that he was praying for us. He also said that he was hoping to make it to a GNN Bootcamp soon. He was also into WOTM. I was really encouraged by this brother, his wife and his friends. It was obvious he was encouraged as well. In fact, on this campus I felt this was one of the warmest receptions we have ever had. Two different people offered to buy us lunch. PRAISE GOD! The one guy who bought us lunch even blessed us financially. I knew he was true brother when he walked up to me after seeing the crowds' reaction and said, "You know, if you just water down the message, people will recieve it..." He smiled and so did I. Another guy who I think is not a student but just hangs out at the campus to relax, told us on Friday that he was blessed by what we were doing. He said it was just like John the Baptist and the people back in his day sure wished that they would have listened to him. After he bought us all something to drink we told him that that night we were going to the clubs and bars to preach. He said, "Well, you give it to 'em... you give 'em everything you got... You give 'em both barrels!" AMEN and AMEN I say to that! And boy did we that night, it was awesome. So to the dear student at UALR, I am sorry to dissapoint you, but I just may come back . However, it may be about a year away. Miles

Hey guys, lets not be attacking each others methods.
Mr. Student,
You have to learn to appreciate that your way of reaching the lost is not the only way. God has more often that not, used coarse, hell fire preaching against the sins of the day (W.P. Nicholson, Billy Sunday, etc) as a means of waking people up to their need. Many of these students are walking without any THOUGHT for God, when BAM!! They hear from these guys that what they do each weekend is going to damn them eternally. I have been accused of the same, but it's the way God has gifted me.
I do send out a warning to you though; DO use the Law. People need to recognise why they need Christ. Don't preach an "ask Jesus into your heart" gospel, because that's not the gospel at all. Man NEEDS to utterly and totally REPENT and believe.
However, I will throw out a humble warning to the guys, Jesse, Miles, etc. You have to plead to God probably more than anything else, that the people you preach to, inspite of your strong language, see that you love them. You have to make people think, "hey! Even though these guys seem nuts, they really seem to mean what they say and they sound like they're warning me because they love me" or something like that. You know what I mean. Without love, we're as sounding brass and tinkling cymbal.
Guys, encourage this fella. He seems to do more than most, even if his method isn't familiar to us.
Remember, we're all one in Christ Jesus. Hallelujah!

Amen Armen! I wholeheartedly agree. I do hope this student comes back onto the board. To find a Christian who witnesses at all is indeed a rarety. So dear student, please, please, listen to Hell's Best Kept Secret before making up your mind about the content in our preaching. You are free to attack the method if you wish, but do like Jesus said in John 7:24 "When you judge, judge righteously".
God bless you,
Miles

i am still here.. and i an not all about the whole accept jesus in to your heart..." up not in the word!!!! any can "accept" christ... and you have to know the law to know the we are freed from the Law of sin and death be there would be no sin if there we no law.. understand.. and i do know that the lord has gifted people in five fold ministry gifts... teachers, preachers, apostles, etc... i am not saying that you are not believers... i am nto saying that what you say is completely wrong... we are all believers and we do have to work togher we need unity in christ and in the body... but we need balance... Law and Grace... becasue there iwould be no need for Christ to come and Die if not be for grace.. but becasue we have broken the and fallen under sin we need grace which only through Christ blood... so they work together...

Well...to say they need to preach more grace, let me ask a question.
Guys, are you seeing everyone tremble and crying "what must I do to be saved?"? If not, then keep with the Law. The point is, keep with the Law until people break.
The Law is the "schoolmaster". What 'did' the schoolmaster do? He corrected you (usually with a rod) and it was painful. How many times did he repeatedly use the rod? Until the persons will was broke and they decided it was time they stopped doing things their own way.
Hence, the Law is to be used till people 'wake up' to realise their rebelion, and look for the remedy. The remedy is of course, Grace! The message of Christ and His redemptive work.
Amen?
