hey all,
curious about others thoughts on the whole cartoon controversy?
are the behaviors of muslims justifiable in any way?
is the media exposing too much, too little?
all opinions count...

In my opinion; No. The muslims are NOT justified in their behavior in the sense that there are some that are burning down buildings because of a cartoon - those who are acting out in such violence, in fact, only justify the cartoon!
Yes. I think the media is exposed it a bit too much in the beginning, but now that there have been all these different volatile reactions, I think it has become newsworthy.
I think if Newsweek or Time came out with a cartoon that was outright blasphemous to the Lord, I think that Christians in America should raise their voices and protest civilly. Should we burn down whatever press organization that printed it? Of course not. Should we hold riots? Of course not.....I believe we should (in such a situation) as the Body of Christ, stop and ask ourselves, "Is there anything that we have done to justify this blasphemy in the first place?" And if fault is found, it needs to be remedied.
That's my opinion.

THIS IS WHAT I WROTE TO A FELLOW FRIEND OF MINE WHEN I FIRST DISCUSSED THE CARTOONS:
"if muslims don't believe in depicting muhammed for the sake of idolizing, then why are they defending the message of the images. If u can assume that muhammed is not what those pictures impose, then that must mean a idol of muhammed must of been already 'drawn' in their minds. "
[thats my brief thought on that]
speaking of which jaolver mentioned abover.....
recently, i recieved a forward making fun of Christ. I was shocked and offeneded. However, I prayed and thought and remembered the following:
"Love your enemies, do good to them which hate you, bless them that curse you, and pray for them which despitefully use you." [Luke 6:27-28]
Great opinion by the way 'jaolver'!
