Hey brethren!
I dunno if you ever heard of bebo.com but I used to go on it, it's an online community thing and there are loads of Christians from my denomination on it. I hadn't been on in ages and I was browsing some pictures and some statements made by professing Christians and I was shocked. I felt burdened of the Lord to write a challenging mail to all my bebo buddies and as I began I felt God really guiding and helping me. I really pray that it moves on hearts like it did mine even as I was typing it. Thought I would share it with you.
"Hey folks!
Don't think about this as from me, but from God. A reminder to us all of what it is to be a 'true' Christian - a true follower of the Lord Jesus Christ!
Do we fast? Luke 5:35
Do we love Christ more than our family? Luke 14:26
Do we get on our knees/face to the ground in prayer? Psalms 95:6, Matthew 26:39, Revelation 7:11-12
Do we have too much? Do we forsake ANYTHING? Luke 14:33
Do we save all our money? What for? Can a Christian with no money/savings ever be in want? If so God's a liar! Matthew 6:19-34
Do we retaliate, ever? Matthew 5:39
Would we ever think of suing someone if the opportunity arose? Matthew 5:40
If lent something to someone and never got it back, would we hold it against them? Luke 6:30
This is just a few things. Really...how much time do we give to the one who gave EVERY moment of roughly 33 years for us, suffered and agonized beyond imagination and all so that we could, what? Make a living here and go to heaven? Have a family here and go to heaven? Pray and read the Bible for 20 minutes every day and hand out a few tracts each Saturday? COMEON!! What are we playing at? God have mercy on us!! The old saints wouldn't leave the house without at least two hours devotion each morning, what are we doing? Do we LIVE Christ?
Do we ever think of denying ourselves T.V. for prayer? How about denying ourselves 'our' (if we're Christians, it's not ours) Saturday night for prayer? What about denying ourselves our dinner for prayer? Do we think God's going to stamp the beauty of Jesus upon our lives in 10 minutes of prayer? Let us ever remember Luke 9:23
To all Christians, Christ came to show us “the way” in which we should live, yet to what extent do we follow His advice? It seems that we prefer to 'worship' Him rather than follow Him. It’s easier on human nature, besides it takes only a few hours one or two days a week. Thus we free to spend the rest of the time in work, at shops or engaged in hobbies, doing the very opposite of what He taught. The result is we have sunk to the very depths of materiality; money is now our saviour!
This has challenged my heart as I have typed it. Really...what AM I doing?

P.S. might be an idea to pass this on to other Christians we know."
