Wow! What a busy day today on the message board. I had to be at work today but was working on a computer most of the day so I would check in frequently and it was always busy.
I thought the debates were good and "spirited" but I guess some others do not think so.
I wonder if there were more posts today than any other.
I am going to start calling Steve Noel the pastor of the doctrine/theology part of the board because everyone seems to like him.

LOL! I'm definitely not cut out to be a Pastor of anything. My church says that if I was a Pastor I would probably weed out most of the people in a few weeks.

Steve,
Dr. Paisley calls that a "Spring Clean" and thinks that at times it's a good thing!!

I agree with that Armen, but most of the people in our congregation are genuine Christians. They still think I would drive them all out if I was a Pastor. God has called me into full time evangelist / revivalist ministry. The themes that burn in my heart our holiness, repentance, evangelism, and revival. While the church clearly needs this it's too one-sided to hear this all the time.

I completely agree with Pastor Steve. Great ;D While the Brownsville Revival was in full swing we were at a conference down there. Carey Robertson, the Associate Pastor at Brownsville A/G, was telling us how he knew Steve Hill wasn't called to be a Pastor. He said that one service Steve came back after the altar call and came across some Christians fellowshipping in the back hallway. Steve started screaming at them, "I'm out there fighting demons and you guys are back here fellowshipping!". He then moved on. A few minutes later Pastor Robertson came by and found the people in the hallway in tears. They explained the situation to him and he said he just encouraged them telling them it that was just Steve's gift. He then told us that he had to go many times and help people recover that Steve Hill had run over like a Mac truck. There's something about that that resonates with me. ;D

Well, maybe but you are definitely the Pastor of this theology/discussion board.
It does seem like you study a lot of theology though, and so you probably at least understand why people are coming from certain directions.
Since you like revival books have you ever read Arthur Wallis "In the Day of Thy Power". He also wrote "God's Chosen Fast" .

I love "In The Day of Thy Power". I bought that a couple of years ago (M. Brown quotes again). I think "Finney's Lectures on Revival" and Wallis' "In The Day of Thy Power" are my two favorites on revival. I also own and enjoy "God's Chosen Fast".

my former pastor told me that in my zeal I may leave a trail of dead bodies. I thought his reference was a bit extreme, but I later found the verses that talked about Phineas and how his zeal for the Lord was later commended (and, he literally left deead bodies in his wake!) Steve is definately a peace-maker, that is for certain. Grant also is that way. Some great godly men on this board....nice to know there are at least SOME out there

when I said some out there i meant some in the world, not on the message board. Just so no one misunderstands! I count it a blessing to find so many godly men on this board who love the Lord to passionately and seek His face. It is rare, and I forget it sometimes when I am in disagreement with their views. you are ALL a blessing.

Indeed Jules, I have to agree. Even though I don't agree with the theology of some of these wonderful brothers, I find myself wishing that they would come and preach at my church.
