Is anybody else tired of Der Zensur deleting your posts? What are you afraid of Jesse? Perhaps you'll just delete this thread instead of replying?

wanderingtrekker, your big long post was just a big long distracting that didn't deal with the question specificly but only morality in general. It is counter-productive.

wanderingtrekker, your big long post was just a big long distracting that didn't deal with the question specificly but only morality in general. It is counter-productive. Since this is a debate thread, I imagine that deleting posts is counter-productive to the debate? This is not a section for the opinion of Jesse, it is a section for the opinions of all. My concern is that there is no standard for censorship. It is completely at your discretion, and many have no chance to express themselves because of your iron fist. Are you afraid of enlightened thought?

Wow... it was a big long distracting? I never realized "distracting" was a noun.
Seriously Jesse, what are you afraid of?

Ok, I understand. I look forward to you going through all of the other threads and deleting the irrelevant things that have been posted. I recall Micah having a lot of tangents - start there. Please and thank you

Catherine Zeta Jones... she looks almost Persian in that picture. I can't believe that my picture of Jesus on the cross saying "lol" didn't get censored and that one did. I guess attractive women make Jesse uncomfortable.

I would love to see the expression on Jesse's face! Just your face, Jesse, just your face. I'm not into the tall, light, stupid types. But plenty of guys in Midtown are, so don't dispair, you'll find the right guy one day! I recommend Berkharts on a Sunday night, that's when they do their camp drag! Dude looks like a lady!

wanderingtrekker, Morluna and drsocc....Your silliness, immaturity and disrespect on this board has long been counter productive and increasing more every day. We certainly welcome your input, but please act like adults.
How can we serve you? Can we answer your questions? Can we pray for you? What? Because if you want that from us, we are all for it. But comments insulting others just waste time and space. Comments on grammar and words that are mispelled...come on, who really cares? We are talking about life and death issues - does it really matter if someone misspelled a word? It just shows that you guys focus on what you want and what is easy and comfortable and disregard and avoid the rest. If it is easier for you to focus on the fact that there are som bad typists and spellers here (myself included) then fine, but don't avoid the obvious reasons for the threads. We want to know why you guys will not confess your sins and repent and receive eternal life? It's not about all the issues such as homosexuality, abortion, etc. It's about sin in general. And you guys are sinners, just like every single other person on the face of the planet since Adam and Eve. THAT is the issue at hand.
When you each originally began posting on the board the questions were good, the debates were good, and even though you guys disagreed with everything we believe, we still respected your right to speak your convictions and even took the time to respond. But now it seems many have sunk into this lower level degradation of others on a personal level. How is this beneficial to anyone? None of us are perfect here, but the Christians here are truly making an effort to serve you. This isn't an "us against them" forum. We are here to serve you in that we want to speak truth to you, in love, and show you the error of your ways.
We are convinced you will each go to hell if you don't repent. What would be horrible is that because we all believe that, if we DIDN'T tell you guys the truth. If you guys believed you had the cure for cancer and I had cancer, what kind of person would you be for not telling me? We believe with all our hearts what the Bible teaches about the sins of man, the need for repentancce, and that Christ is the only way. So that is what we preach and teach here. We do it out of love for you. You couldn't want your children to step into the street and get hit by a car would you? If death was imminent, you'd intervene. Even if your interference and actions made the child mad, you'd still do it because you would know it was best for the child even if they didn't understand. You may not understand anything else right now, but please know that our motives are out of genuine love and concern for your souls.
Many board administrators could have banned you from the site altogether and prevented ANY of your posts. Jesse has been more than patient with you. WHy are you still pushing him and ridiculing HIS RIGHT to censor, delete or anyhting else he wants to do? He is certainly not doing it in an angry spirit. He has left MANY MANY posts I personally found offensive, but they remain. So in stead of focusing on what gets cut, look at what he has left. Some admins would delete any negative about themselves, Jesse leave is. This forum is open to all.
By the way, nothing had been deleted or censored until you guys started pushing the envelope. You guys started posting things that you knew would get a reaction and were innappropriate on a Christian forum. You are the guests here, and we have all been patient and respectful to you because we sincerely want you to know the truth. Please start being more mindful of your posts. Blessings to all of you...

Look. I am sick and tired of you guys legitimizing bad grammar and spelling by saying that our souls are more important. That may be so, but really... how hard is it to spell check?! There is a spell check BUTTON on the post window!!! CLICK IT!!! Does it TAKE that much effort? Maybe I am a grammar Nazi, but come on... I can forgive a couple of mispellings but blatant ignorance for the basic rules of English grammar... this just seems inexcusable to me. I really have a hard time engaging in serious debate with someone who says "of coarse" rather than "of course." Please. If you want me to take you seriously, take yourself seriously.
Now then. As to your comments about our immaturity... first of all, I did get rather perturbed when several serious threads of mine were deleted or moved for no reason other than that the mods found them "graphic." For newcomers, I am referring to a very educational thread I made on masturbation and the views of the church concerning it. I outlined some of my own experiences, and other members were sharing their stories, being open about experience and fears related to this topic... It was closed down after I began a discussion explaining the way certain body parts work and generally talking about anatomy. Seriously... if you guys find the words p-e-n-i-s and v-a-g-i-n-a worthy of being replaced with "thingy" and "girl thingy" on these boards... YOU are the immature ones my dears, not I. After this incident I decided to start posting things that I knew you would find offensive, because honestly... you guys are just too easy to play with. It was funny, to me. I COULD have done far worse, believe you me. Why did I do this? Because you gave me very little respect and no reason to take your board seriously. Let's make a checklist of reasons why I find you offensive, disrespectful, and altogether unworthy of being taken seriously:
1) You refuse to even consider for a moment that you MIGHT be wrong, and I MIGHT be right. (i.e. you're conceited.) 2) You can't spell or form proper sentence structure half the time. 3) You delete my threads in an attempt to silence me. 4) You press your views on me constantly and take every chance to convert me to your belief system. (Have I ONCE presented you with the choice to renounce your religion or be d**ned for eternity?) 5) You're homophobes... times a million. And I find that offensive.

Two things:
1. The spelling/grammar. Yep. It bugs me, too. I'm an English major, like Morluna, and don't enjoy seeing the language that I love being abused. It does say a lot for the strength of your arguments if you are incapable of typing in proper English. I am personally much less likely to listen to someone who has the grammatical skills of a fifth grader. It's one thing to make typos, because we all do that, but when you make the same errors ubiquitously and pervasively, it makes me think that it's lack of knowledge, and not simple inexperience with computers. And I tend not to trust the words of someone who doesn't know the difference between "coarse" and "course."
2. "Thingy" and "girl thingy." Agreeing again. I would really, sincerely like an answer as to why these were thought to be good replacements for biological terms. It's one thing to censor offensive slurs, but these are the proper words to refer to these parts of the body--and your euphemisms are not communicating an attitude of decorum or maturity. This is the sort of language I would expect to see from the four and five year olds that I coached, and I don't understand why it was thought to be appropriate on a message board for literate adults. If you really feel the you must censor the words "p-e-n-i-s" and "v-a-g-i-n-a," very well, but can we please come up with a better replacement? What about asteriks? I don't know if the administrators think their filter words are clever, cute or witty--but that's not the message that's being sent, trust me.

I'm not a Mod but I would guess that the software/server they are using (proboards.com) is filtered and I bet they do not have much control over that aspect. I may be wrong..... I know proboards as a whole has some rules they expect you to abide by.

While the settings that are in place to filter profanity may be a bit silly (I wouldn't know if that's something we can change, or if it's proboards that is in charge of that), wouldn't you say that's a bit like the pot calling the kettle black?
Seriously, what is more ridiculous; the mistakes in grammar or cheaply edited pictures to make fun of people on the board? Odd profanity filters or resorting to self-incriminating ad hominem attacks when an arguement within a debate is found to be a sinking ship.
The foolishness in some of the mudslinging, vulgarity, and attacks on personal character instead of the arguements within the debat that I have seen on the boards posted by some individuals appears very much like someone trying to bail out a sinking ship with a sieve.
Different posts and threads have been deleted or moved because of their relevancy to the section of the board or indecent topics, language and/or pictures.
When it comes to mature and intelligent debate arguements must be either; 1. Conceded to or 2. Refuted
As some of you are university students, it shows a blatant lack of maturity to resort to ad hominem attacks, and/or profanity and vulgarity - far more so than the mistakes within grammar and spelling, or the efforts of the moderators to keep the board in order the best they know how.

Personally... I haven't "resorted to" any of my actions in an effort to "bail" myself out of an argument. I think I've argued my case perfectly well, and have answered all of your questions to the best of my ability. The silly pictures and posts have just been as extra, for my own personal entertainment... and they have been quite entertaining for me and others... sorry if you lack the same sense of humor. Not my problem.

I would like to apologize. Yesterday, I was immature. I posted a legitimate response to Jesse's question about truth being relative (a response which agrees with his opinions, as far as I can tell). It was not ad hominem and it was not offensive. It was deleted anyway, the only explination given was that it was long and not on topic. While I will say that it was long, it was not off topic. I was mad, it was late, and my anger was fueled by the general anger of those of us on the boards who feel as if we are not being respected. I don't ask for you to agree with me. I do ask that you respect me, especially my thought. My actions last night were uncalled for and led to the creation of this thread. I apolgize, and I will refrain from further attacks in the future. From now on, I resolve to take at least one hour off of the boards after I have been offended, so as to cool down.
As for the grammar, please respect yourselves. Repeated misuse of grammar which is not an obvious typo causes people to disregard your intelligence. I am not stating an opinion. It has been shown that speech/writing is one of the largest factors in how someone percieves intelligence in another person. You see, speech is manifested in three forms: expression (speech, writing), comprehension (understanding), and thought. If you are unable to express a sentence coherently, it is considered to be a reflection on your thought-speech. Lots of things go into this, and it is a natural reaction for humans. For instance, southerners often get the shaft because they speak more slowly than other Americans which leads to the (often) mistaken belief that they think more slowly.
Please take the time to reread your posts (out loud if necessary) to make them easier to understand. It will make your arguements stronger.
A few of the grammatical errors which grate on my nerves: Of coarse There for their or their for there your for you're or you're for your
You have my deepest apologies, and my sincerest hopes for a civil discussion.

My post was to hopefulheart because he accused me of posting tangents. I was wondering what tangents I had posted that he thought should be deleted. To be clear, we're basing this off what I perceive as the moderator's sense of the word 'tangent'. I don't understand it, either, it's ok Also, I would like to request there be more pruning of threads rather than total deletion. I feel a lot of valid posts have been lost because an administrator was unwilling to take the time and save what was worthwhile
