In the light of what happened this week at VT, I feel in my spirit that there will come much opposition against the open air preachers of Americas Campuses. I know that there is opposition now, but I feel that this was one of Satan's attempts to stop open air campus preachers from spreading the Word of God to these students.
Many feel that this incident will cause many to run to Christ. I feel opposite. I feel that this will cause many to be threatened at any one who apposes their views, and attack at all cost.
I feel in my spirit, that this is the beginning of Christian persecution in America. And this incident will be the guiding force to allow it to happen.
Just in our small state this week, we have had 3 campuses at shutdown with small incidents that have happened. Do you believe that they will just look the other way when a man comes on campus to stir up any kind of debates.
Those of you who are led by CHRIST, you will overcome all who appose. But those who are led other than HE, will become victims of the enemy.
God Speed to all.

I feel that this will cause many to be threatened at any one who apposes their views, and attack at all cost. 32 innocent young people are dead, but for whatever reason, you are suddenly going to become the center of attention. Right. Keep feeding that ego, pal. It must hurt to know that no one with an IQ above 60 takes you seriously.

There's a whole section of this site labeled "Persecution." It has almost 400 posts in it. Some of the items there are even valid examples of persecution against those trying to exercize free speech. But a crazy person killing people for non-religious reasons on a college campus now has to be the "beginning of christian persecution"? Come on man, shetani has it right. Not everything is about you.

The killer stated he was doing this to be like Jesus. Read his reason for killing. You assume me wrong.

Nothing that happens happens by chance fellow. It will happen for the Glory of God or evil. All evil that happens in this world is an attack unto God Himself. This had nothing to do with the killer nor with the murdered people. This was all about God and satan. So you are right that it has nothing to do with me personally, but it has everything to do with my SAVIOUR.

Ah, but you completely avoided my point. You made this blanket assertion that these killings are the beginnings of persecution against Christians. First, clearly there has been persecution against Christians in the past. Second, did the killer specifically target Christians? What would make you think that he wanted to kill Christians? Can anyone say with a straight face that society is going to react to this incident by saying "hmm, this crazy guy with guns said he wanted to be like Jesus so that means anyone who says they want to follow Jesus must be evil!" Doesn't that sound even the slightest bit absurd to you?
The road between a person debating in public and a crazy, violent hermit who wants to kill people is a loooooong one. I just really don't see any connection at all, and I honestly think that when people create persecution bogeymen it does a disservice to anyone who actually is being persecuted.

I'm gonna go with mahatma and shetani on this one. I think your reasoning and logic is just as twisted as the killer's was.
I'm sure there have been many killers in the past who did so because they thought God or Jesus was telling them to. In fact, the Crusades. Taken on (supposidly) because the Pope said God wanted them to reclaim the holy land.
One lunatic who kills 32 good people does not start a rash of Christian hate crimes. More than 60% of the US professes to be of some Christian denomination, making us the most "faithful" of all industrialized countries, even ahead of Italy.
I just think you're looking for an excuse right now. Nothing with this shooting had to do with religion (except for in the messed up mind of the killer) and nothing after this shooting will have to do with religion either.
