joem and other micah critics,
The video you posted is over one year old. I have already been called on that and repented over it.
I never remember talking about sex toys. If it was so clear and such a big deal to you for you to publicly make posts against me you should at least have some idea of what is was. Yes or no?
I will say this though. In 1995 I heard a campus preacher who I do not know the name of preach against masturbation, say it would send someone to hell and he made a hand motion.
That was the first time I ever heard anyone preach against it or say it would send someone to hell. I never forgot it and no it did not throw my mind into the gutter. It made an impression on me forever.
Others contacted me personally and I have talked with them. I would be glad to do the same with you if you will give me a number.
That is the way you should have handled this anyway. Did you listen to the interview my pastor did with me where I admitted being wrong by being too graphic? It has been on youtube since August. The video you posted is from January 2007.
By the way as Jesse pointed out being graphic or explicit is a judgment call. I do however believe there is a line that can be crossed and unfortunately I have crossed it in the past.
There are two things I have said recently that I believe most of you would say were too graphic. I do not believe I will use those any more because I do not need to. I am not beyond correction.
I do not understand how months back Jesse posted a bunch of videos where I preached and none of them received even one comment. I do not care whether or not anyone comments or not, but it seems like a negative, critical, faultfinding spirit to never point out anything good and always focus on the bad (examples-Micah calls girls s-l-*t-s but show no evidence, Micah talks about sex toys but show no evidence, etc.).
Personally I do not think most open air preachers are very effective because they are too vague and indirect in denouncing sin. Sinners are not understanding what they mean and do not take it to heart. That is why it has little or no impact.
Also I will not allow anyone who refuses to obey the commandment of the Lord Jesus Christ in the great commission to preach openly to dictate to me what is acceptable and what is not acceptable in open air preaching. Jesse is a bonafide open air preacher and I greatly value his opinion on things. I have talked about some of this with him over the few years I have known him and made adjustments accordingly. I will continue to do so if necessary.
Going into a parking lot with a megaphone and preaching a one minute sermonette on how "Christ died for your sins" is not open air preaching. That is a cheap way to try to make it look like you are open air preaching while you are guaranteed no confrontation or opposition.
You guys who think all I do is tell dirty stories, etc. are dead wrong. I only have two or three stories I tell and I use them very sparingly. Many weeks I do not use them at all.
I have yet to see any of my critics in action. I would like to see some of the critics preaching to large, angry hostile crowds, hurling insults, slander, false accusations, trick questions, and threats of violence and how you respond and handle the situation.
If you are preaching directly against sin in no vague and uncertain terms then why aren't you getting this type of response?
If you are getting this type of response then let's see how you handle it. I am very willing to learn. I have been called on the carpet before and repented and am not beyond correction.
Do you critics have a local church?
I have yet to hear of any fruit from my critics. I can show fruit from the preaching I have done (in spite of the errors I have made). Is your preaching bearing fruit?
Do you ever consider that I myself may not even agree with the way I handled a situation in the past that was recorded on youtube? I honestly examine my heart and preaching on a daily basis.
If you would like to handle this properly then please send me a contact number.
