i am forbidden, by jesse and administration, to post in the doctrine and theology forum. so are the other 'heathens' who post on this board.
so, what i want to do here is try to open up 'doctrine and theology' in the world view debating section. i want to encourage all of you to post here to consider this, and instead of posting debates concerning social issues alone, to start reading as much christian philosophy and doctrine/theology as you can get your hands on. i believe knowledge of the 'topic at hand' is essential when debating, and anyone who thinks otherwise is an ignorant fool.
personally, i have studied the bible, doctrine and theology for ten years and i am agnostic. i believe the fundamentals in beliefs require and examination of the playing field which includes world religion--as well as non-religious social criticism, but less so. i am agnostic because i find little to no evidence supporting the claims of christianity, and i can support my argument. the question is whether or not you all can do the same.
christian or heathen, can you support your argument, or are you blindsided by one argument?
--will you be the typical christian that never questions anything?
"god exists because the bible says so! air is invisible! yay!"
--will you be the typical heathen that rejects christianity because you are rebelling against your parents, society, or anything in general?
"god doesn't exist because i dont see him, or he's never done anything for me."
these [above] are invalid arguments.
this is a set-up more than an actual post. i do not expect a lot of comments, but i would like to see more topics that mirror the doctrine and theology section.
note: this is a christian board. heathens need to provide biblical evidence that their religion is amiss.
christians, and heathens alike, cannot simply disagree because they can. otherwise, its not debate, its more like a shouting match.
so, take a look at the threads in the theology forum and talk about them here. i am starved for debate, everything in this particular forum is child's play.
this is why everyone is getting one liners from me. yay.
i will try to start up a topic in the next few days, but i want to see everyone else producing...i am tired of being [one of] the only one(s).
