i am only reposting this here because i know that not everyone posts/reads the random posts section.
believers and heathens alike, i think it would be much more convenient to debate in real-time versus posting a comment every two minutes, and waiting for the other party to respond. so, if anyone would like to disturb me, feel free!

the benefit of using the MB is we can all gain from the conversations without being online at the same time or even taking part in it. But I don't mind one-on-one conversations either, or just friendly hello's!

grant, if you consider message board flooding to be a benefit. i am not sure how a six page conversation between two people on one message board over thirty minutes is beneficial...but whatever floats your boat!

Hi HSTN, I don't consider all the discussions here benefitial, but I do believe open discussions for others to read on their available time and take part in if interested is benefitial to the whole body of people on these boards.
For example, you and I might have a discussion about "Why are people rude?" and perhaps by our own lack of understanding ourselves and lacking the ability to see things from different perspectives, having the discussion open for other people to give input and shed light on the matter, perhaps even pointing at instances of ourselves, can greatly benefit the discussions. And in turn, open the door to us realizing things about ourselves... and for any humble enough to examine themselves honestly, have the opportunity to better themselves and how they interact with others.
So its not what floats my boat that should matter, but what is my boat made of, that will determine if it floats or sinks.

They never thought a boat made of 100 ton blocks of iron would float, but alas... My point exactly... but I doubt you knew that since every one of your responses seems to be an attempt to mock or diminish the believers instead of support and edify. I hope I'm wrong...

A dog can look like a cat if you close your eyes and believe, or for you guys, Satan can look like God because you won't open your eyes to the truth. How sad for you Grant.

I sincerely would like to have your understanding of Biblical eternity, GOD and man, apart from the abusive posts that are so common towards us.

Like I said, I'm still searching, but you guys have proven time and time again, you don't quite have it either ... that's okay, in a few days I won't be here bothering you, I'll be off with REAL Christians.

if you don't know what truth is, then how can you make a claim of what a truth is? EDIT: I realized you might not understand my point... You admit not knowing what truth is (I appreciate your honesty and openness there) but if you don't know what truth is then how can you make a statement of truth such as who "real Christians" are? You can't just say because you know what truth isn't because that's to say you do know some truth. If you do know some, then I'd loved to hear it. Thanks

ah, I too must correct myself. Better Christians, not necessarily REAL, but what the truth is, I'm sure to find it with them in a LOVING environemnt, then being yelled at on the street that on on a message board that I'm sinner.
Now my dear Grant, which would you prefer?

Better Christians, not necessarily REAL, but what the truth is, I'm sure to find it with them in a LOVING environemnt, then being yelled at on the street that on on a message board that I'm sinner. Now my dear Grant, which would you prefer? Cervvy, you're making a statement of who is a "better" Christian when you admit to not knowing what a "real" Christian really is... by not knowing the truth. Not that you care, I'm sure, but I am glad you admit not knowing the truth and you're seeking it, but if you are truly seeking truth then you wouldn't close off and make blanket statements as you seem to do on these boards about who is a real/better Christian over another. If someone doesn't know the truth then they should ask questions, bring up discrepencies, dig into what doesn't make sense to them, continuing with an open mind in order that the truth doesn't pass them by. This doesn't mean you have to agree with everything or anything I say, but if someone is seeking truth, they don't close themselves off to information and characterize people and possible truths by general assumptions. ‘Minds are like parachutes — they only function when open.’Thomas Dewer ‘People only see what they are prepared to see.’Ralph Waldo Emerson Cervvy, I've said it many times, your point of view is remenicient of my old self so its nothing new to me. I believed myself to be open, loving, and correct even though I admitted not knowing the absolute truth. I would then have some of HSTN's viewpoint that there must be relative truths since nobody could agree. But I was hiding behind my own lack of knowledge and revelation of GOD. GOD is not to be triffled with no matter how one might want to think of Him. I don't create Him up to be a way that would make me [seemingly] happy, if I did that then I would have probably created Him to care less about my sin so I could stay in it and be doing what I loved doing. I would have created Him in ways to justify my own beliefs at the time, my own desires. But He is Who He is, Yahweh. There is no other. Praise be to the one and only GOD, the LORD.

i wish god would reveal himself to me. i know everyone wants to be a zombie and follow blindly. yes, we want to conform in christ, and wear suspenders like jesse and jeff and miles, and then shave our heads so that we do not have to wash it when we are out on the road bumming off people in the name of god. i want to condescend and force people to see the truth i see, even if it means disturbing the peace and breaking the laws. yes, surely, my eyes have been open by the god who has directly and indirectly murdered millions throughout time. praise god for triggering my emotions and making me think that i 'feel' and 'know' god. oh lord, i do not want to work or pay taxes, so let me throw stones at people instead. let me take donations so that i can spend the money. yes lord, this is who i really want to be.....

It's interesting how you guys complain that we don't attend to your questions/points, though I gave every attempt and could tell you weren't really interested in my answers if they didn't match your view. But here you have been time-and-time again doing the exact same thing you blame us for... dodging the questions/points by making meaningless posts.
If you want dialog, you should start dialoging instead of patronizing. Otherwise you'll have only yourselves to talk to... and if that makes you happy then just tell me you'd rather me stay in the other Forums and I'll do so. This isn't lack of care for your souls, because I would die for you, but I'm realizing your minds are off and you're here only to patronize and boast. You've heard the truth... its time for you to humble yourselves and repent to the LORD your GOD.

You've heard the truth... its time for you to humble yourselves and repent to the LORD your GOD. Well, hello Mr. Pot! Allow me to introduce you to my wife, Mrs. Kettle. Re-read your post. You yourself are being close-minded and patronizing. Most secularists do not claim to have absolute knowledge of the truth. You Christians, OTOH, do claim to know the absolute truth. A secularist can be proven wrong. You cannot (and that's a BAD thing). You will hold on to your beliefs blindly no matter how strong the arguements are against you. Your only defences against secular reason are faith and fallacy. The reason you people eventually walk away from secular threads isn't because we secularists do not allow for open dialogue ... it's because we routinely refute your points and you cannot answer us. You Christians are the ones who close off real dialogue whenever a secularist fails to swoon for your worldview.

My dear Grant, I did give you guys a chance, I opene3d your door and looked in. I saw hate. The thing I have been sure of has been, the truth has to be about LOVE. The people I will be spending my summer with, all about the LOVE. So, I can safely say, BETTER.
