John 14:27
27Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid.
DO NOT BE AFRAID. Okay Jesus, I always knew fear wasn't the way. Why then do your so-called-followers use it?
Because they're afraid about being wrong? Because they're afriad of anything that they don't agree with? Because they're afraid of the truth ...
It's easier to hate then to love.
(Say what you want or what you will, I don't care nor will it sway what I know. I'm posting here so you guys might get a message of love instead one of hate.)

You have a carnal undrstanding of fear. The fear that we and many other TRUE Christians talk about is not the fear of heights, or falling. It is however the reverent fear of a holy, perfect, righteous God. You see, the very first thing you must realize is this - You are corrupt, God is perfect. You are bad, God is good. You are morally bankrupt, and all riches come from God.
If you cant see that than nothing else matters.

this is ridiculous. evan, we all have a carnal understanding of everything because we are human. the bible you read, adore, and take to heart in a literal fashion says that human logic does not often coincide with god's logic...a day to god is ten thousand to humans...amongst other things. this all means that you do NOT have a complete understanding of god, or why certain words were used in the bible. human language cannot entertain the essence of god...should he exist in the first place.
...even i know that, and this is why i get so frustrated at christians who think they own god, or put him in a box. christians put limits, restraints and human understanding on god...and then you guys have the AUDACITY to throw it in our faces...
...sad.

A god that commands I fear him is no god for me. I prefer the love of my fellow man, and the guiding collective understanding and compassion of the Oversoul that is the universal Self of creation.

In today's world there are many problems that produce fear and guilt in the lives of people. The resulting stress becomes at times, unbearable, and may ultimately lead to emotional breakdowns and physical problems. The Creator of our bodies never intended for mankind to live under these kinds of problems, for which we were never created.
In Psalm 139:14 we read "For I am fearfully and wonderfully made". The whole of an individual is a wonderfully complex structure, but not suited for the stresses to which we are subjected. The body has marvelous recuperative powers, but undue and prolonged stress is harmful. The Bible provides a threefold formula to help us overcome the problems of life, over which we may have little or no control, so that we are able to handle life itself.
I. Fear Not, But Trust: The following passages all speak to the child of God, in promises that help us overcome fear (Luke 12:32; Psalm 27:3, 48:14; Isaiah 41:10, 58:11; Hebrews 13:5,6). The reason the Christian need not fear is that God is sovereign and in control. This is a simple, but reassuring fact (See: I Chronicles 29:11,12; Psalm 10:16, 22:28, 24:1, 115:3; Isaiah 40:15-23). Therefore, we should TRUST our heavenly Father, which helps to alleviate any fear or apprehension.
II Timothy 1:7 points out that, "God has not given us the spirit of fear, but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind". The spirit of fear comes from Satan using it to neutralize our Christian living, and keep us down. God has given us the spirit of power to live constructively, the spirit of love to live sacrifically, and a sound mind to live reasonably. In I John 4:18 it states that mature love casts out fear. When our love for Christ is being strengthened and matured, then fear decreases.
II. Fret Not: Much of the fear in society today comes because of evil and wickedness, and those who promote it. God's Word tells us to fret not because of evildoers (Psalm 37:1,7; Proverbs 24:19). This does mean that we should be blind to evil, nor that we don't need to stand up for good, but that we have no need to worry or get bent out of shape because of it.
Remember, God is in control, and He sees all the evil that is going on in the world. In Psalm 7:11 it says that, "God is angry with the wicked every day".Then in I Peter 3:12 we read, "The face of the Lord is against them that do evil". In Daniel 4:17, 25, 35, 37 the prophet Daniel pointed out the sovereignty of God over the kingdoms of mankind. It is comforting to understand these truths in dark days of wickedness among the peoples of the world.
III. Faint Not: At times it seems as if "right is on the scaffold, and wrong is on the throne", whereas in reality that is not the way it is, though it may seem that way. This is why God says to us, faint not. In Galatians 6:9 we are told not to, "Be weary in well doing, for in due season we shall reap, if we faint not". Other passages speak to this concept, such as: II Corinthians 4:16 and Isaiah 40:28,31.
Our responsibility is to keep on following the pathway of righteousness, trust our Heavenly Father (Psalm 37:3; Proverbs 3:5,6), and "Cast all your cares on Him for He cares for you" (I Peter 5:7).
These three admonitions are not glib panaceas for a troubled heart, they are God's principles and promises for today's stressful and complex living. These are promises the Christian can bank on, and know they are backed up by the "Word of God, which lives and abides forever" (I Peter 1:23).
My hope is built on nothing less, Than Jesus' blood and righteousness; I dare not trust the sweetest frame, But wholly lean on Jesus' name.
His oath, His covenant, His blood, Support me in the whelming flood; When all around my soul gives way, He then is all my hope and stay.
On Christ the solid rock I stand; All other ground is sinking sand, All other ground is sinking sand.
I did not write this. But just a few weeks ago at church the sermon was about Fear Not! Just trust the Lord. Fear and faith cannot mix but we have to be living in the Lord to fear not. Be spending time in the word of God and prayer. The word is not just a dead letter it feeds our Spirit which overcomes the flesh our carnal thinking and ways. The word is life. It is bread from heaven. You have to be born again to be able to understand the things of the Spirit and have a vital living relationship with God and know Him. Trust Him, so when things come our way instead of sinking into fear go to the Father for help in time of need. He will make a way where there seems to be no way. We can only overcome the madness of this world and all the things of this world system that try and suck us in by knowing God by living for Him and by trusting Him even unto death. He wants us in a place where we do not even fear death because we know the reality of who he is and we know our reward is with Him in heaven and not hell. We hear him we converse with him. It is not theolgy it is fact. This is the "Fear Not" Jesus is speaking about in this instance, totally trusting in Him. You can know God experientially like you know your friends its not a mind thing. He is not up far away he is with us. He sent us the Holy Spirit to guide us into all truth and to help and comfort us in our time of need. But you must be born again to perceive and understand these things.

Following on from that if we "Fear Not" the out come is Peace that surpasses understanding. The word says count it all joy when you go through firey trials.. now that doesnt make sense to most but read on.
Peace That Passes Understanding
The greatest search of the human heart is the search for peace. The longing for inner peace is the root of many of our actions, whether conscious or not. Human beings are students of the search for peace, but they are not very good learners. We search for peace in bottles, relationships, sexuality, food, knowledge, drugs, parties, and a thousand other places. In spite of our life long searches, we continue to look in barren places, falling prey to loneliness, depression, discouragement, disappointment. The sign on the door might say “happy hour” but inside you will find the stressed-out, lonely, pretending people. Many times we face darkness in our own hearts because we have not turned to the only source of peace – we have not believed that He will be our peace.
The truth is that God alone can give us peace. God loves me and knows where I am every second of every day. God is bigger than any of the problems I am facing in my life right now. God will never leave me, turn his back on me, reject me, or withdraw his love for me.
But many people feel that there is something wrong with them. We too often buy into the “if only” philosophy. If only I were thinner … had nicer clothes… drove a Jaguar…. made more money. But none of these things can give us what we crave – they leave us empty. Until we have peace with God we will never experience true peace in this life. God is Jehovah Shalom – the God of Peace. He wants you to have peace in your life. Sin destroys our peace. When we sin…
*We are self-centered / drift farther from God
*We reject need for His presence in our lives
*We follow our selfish desires rather than listening to the voice of our Abba.
A word from the Prince of Peace: “My peace I give you; not as the world gives…” (John 14:27) The world offers peace that is a mirage. The peace that God offers is truly real. There are four clear signs of God’s peace.
I. GOD’S PEACE TRANSCENDS CIRCUMSTANCES
God’s peace is not a denial of reality! It is not escape from reality… nor a stupor that dulls our senses.
God’s peace gives us survival power for the realities we face.
1 John 4:4 “…The one who is in you is greater than the one who is in the world.”
II. GOD’S PEACE SURPASSES UNDERSTANDING
Could we find peace in a prison? Philippians 4:7 “And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.” What prisons do we find ourselves in … do we feel trapped or that we have no where to turn? We cannot figure out God’s peace, how it operates, but it is certain.
III. GOD’S PEACE IS EXTENDED TO ALL HIS FOLLOWERS.
Peace is a promise of God for men and women of all ages, all cultures, through all generations.
“The Bible has more than 300 verses about peace. From cover to cover, God’s Word presents the resounding truth: God wants you to be at peace with Him, and through your peace with Him, to have peace within your own heart, and as much as it depends on your actions, to be at peace with your neighbors.” C. Stanley
IV. GOD’S PEACE IS INTENDED TO BE AN ABIDING STATE OF BEING.
The Greek word for “peace” means to “bind together” something that has been broken or disjointed. Alienated men and women … feeling disconnected from each other and God … can find a way to unity and wholeness. The word for Peace also refers to a prevailing sense of quietness and rest in a person’s heart.
2 Thessalonians 3:16 “Now may the Lord of peace himself give you peace at all times and in every way. The Lord be with all of you.”
Conclusion:
We will find trouble in this life, that we already know. What we may not know is that God’s Spirit is available to give us peace – if we will only turn to Him. True inner peace can only come when we have a peaceful relationship with God.
“So may peace rain down from Heaven,
Like little pieces of the sky, Little keepers of the promise, Falling on these souls the drought has dried, In His Blood and in His Body, In this Bread and in this Wine, Peace to you, Peace of Christ to you.” - Rich Mullins, Peace

Sadly I can't listen to those audios and those articles menorah, words alone can't convince me. Something you silly fundies think would. I've read from the Bible, read only WORDS. Nothing living or great about it. Stories, mostly. Stop with the words and let's see some action!! Go out and rid the world of poverty and hunger instead of preaching and you'll convince me the Lord is on your side.
Unless He isn't.

Cervvy, SO far you have rejected audio, articles, and every thing else that anyone trys to give you to answer your questions. You are willingly ingorant. If you reject everyting everyone gives you, and then resort to ad hominem phrases like, "silly fundies" you yourself become a troll.
Why is there all those things still in the world? Because there are people like you still in the world that reject every ounce of evidence and are to afraid to try and defend what you believe. YOu can call names and reject our point of view with the best of them, that does not make you "enlightened" or "intelligent". In fact, apart from the Chrsitian worldview, and apart from God there is no knowledge.
So, in conclusion, as long as you search for knowledge and truth with a blindfold on, you might as well sit down, and keep to yourself unless you would like to offer something intelligent. It grieves me, cervvy, that you rebel against God in such heinous and vicious ways.

I don't reject the audio, my dial-up connection does. Always assuming.
And I only reject your guys "knowledge" after it fails to stand up, when it doesn't make sense, when it clearly is wrong, yet you are too blinded to even see it!
IN CONCLUSION, the truth has yet to be presented to me and you grieving over it does diddly squat.

Sorry buddy, your hosue of cards has fallen over. "Crackpot ideas" comes to mind.
I too it seems have been waiting for answers and on several things I've posted, some have tried to offer up their arguments against but have failed.
There is a minor difference though. I have admited on this board that my ideas and beliefs are not 100% there, because I am in the process of finding out what is the truth. So yes, there are whole in my belief that have been been pointed out. I again never claimed to be in control of the whole truth.
Unlike you. Who apparently does have the truth, 100%. But when wholes are found in it, you disregard them. Even when your religion is shown to be incomplete.
It does not stand well, it is flawed. Why can't you see your house built on the sand??

"On Christ the SOLID ROCK I stand, ALL OTHER GROUND is sinking sand"
Do we really have to get into the whole debate regarding "beliefs" and "truth" again? You are ever learning but never able to come to a knowledge of the truth. Dusty had a working mind, and he was good to converse with. You however, nothing you say is logical, rational, and half of the time is ungrounded. Like my ontology thread, you responded like you knew, and then a post or two later confessed you knew nothing of the subject. Why exactly did you repsond then?

Like I posted over there, I posted WHAT I knew, not LIKE I knew. I was merely being nice to you. You were moping that no one had debated your post, I tried to offer why. If you don't what my posts, find another message board. Or better yet, find a better religion.
I can say only one thing to my defense aginst your attacks at me; I answer from my heart, you answer from a book.

God writes his laws in our hearts his words are to be sounded down into our heart. His words are life. He spoke the world into existence. The words in the Bible are Gods words not just dead letters. Truth is truth wether you believe it or not. It doesnt change it is absolute and cannot be shifted. What do you think your future holds where will you go when you die? Why do you think the world is a mess ? etc etc

Menorah has a better grasp of it. Exactly, God wrotes what I believe in my heart. Then you guys tell me not to believe it because I believe it from my heart. Then tells me what a BOOK says was written on MY heart instead. Sorry, nope.
Why is thr world a mess, because people just REFUSE to get along with others until they see things their way. That's why.
Trying to figure out where I'll be when I'm deadis for God to decide. And I'll leave that up to him, not for you guys to tell me where you think I'm going.
Live life like you're alive, not dead.

There is only unity in truth. Gods truth. What I am saying is God writes his word the (bible) in our hearts it is who we are. In him we live and breathe and have our being because outside of God we are dead. We are created beings so who knows what is best for us. Our creator and our Father in Heaven.
Look what a mess we have made of things by going our own way. We were created to worship God but we worship other things if we are not born again or we make a God in our own image.
When we die we have no say in the matter here and now we can make the right decision for our eternity. When we die it is too late we cannot have a choice then or turn here we can make choices there we have not control we are just taken to the place we deserve for the choices we make here and now. Thats why God left his word like a map to guide us.. but those words are not just letters on a page they are alive and have life in them.. but you cannot recieve that life unless you repent and believe and are born again not of flesh but of the Spirit of God. Gods word is creative meaning it creates life, his spoken word. (All scripture is inspired of God) Gods ways are above our ways. He is God he created the world the seas the sky moon stars sun grass flowers trees animals and you. We can only catch a glimpse of God in our own finite minds but without God we are already dead and cannot see things of the Spirit at all (of the Holy Spirit.) All you have to do Cervvy is call out to God yourself he can come to you personally as well as anyone of us if you really want to know Him and meet with him.

How long did you wait? Keep seeking and you will find. Cervyy.
Also to come to know God we must repent and want Him to be the Lord of our life. He is our saviour. We must realise that we are sinners with no hope without him. He came to change us from walking away from him to turn and face him and follow him but we must repent and believe.

This came in my email today...
This week's promise: God will help you understand his Word
What guides your life?
Oh, how I love your law! I think about it all day long. Your commands make me wiser than my enemies, for your commands are my constant guide. Yes, I have more insight than my teachers, for I am always thinking of your decrees. I am even wiser than my elders, for I have kept your commandments. I have refused to walk on any path of evil, that I may remain obedient to your word. I haven't turned away from your laws, for you have taught me well. How sweet are your words to my taste; they are sweeter than honey. Your commandments give me understanding; no wonder I hate every false way of life. Your word is a lamp for my feet and a light for my path. Psalm 119:97-105 NLT
No Other Book
I have guided my life by the Bible for more than 60 years, and I tell you there is no book like it. It is a miracle of literature, a perennial spring of wisdom, a wonder of surprises, a revelation of mystery, an infallible guide of conduct, and an unspeakable source of comfort.
Pay no attention to people who discredit it, for I tell you that they speak without knowledge. It is the Word of God itself.
Study it according to its own direction. Live by its principles. Believe its message. Follow its precepts.
No man is uneducated who knows the Bible, and none is wise who is ignorant of its teachings. Samuel Chadwick
