GOD, you are King. Wow, what a revelation. Psalm 5:5 and Romans 9:13.

glynisbethel may be referring to this verse. Jer 8:13 I will surely consume them, saith the LORD: [there shall be] no grapes on the vine, nor figs on the fig tree, and the leaf shall fade; and [the things that] I have given them shall pass away from them. God hates figs? If not, then maybe glynisbethel is quoting Fred Phelps? -- On a side note.... the message board probably filtered it out and put the * instead of f a gs.

Ah, I just noticed after my last comment. I had to make a modify. Your Diector, Dept. of Annoyance is spelled wrong. You spelled it "Diector".

God hates liars too! We also have to remember that God's hatred is holy and unlike our murderous hatred. God's love is perfect unlike our prideful lusts.
Thankfully, we can be filled with the Holy Spirit and learn how to hate and love properly.

God hates liars too! We also have to remember that God's hatred is holy and unlike our murderous hatred. God's love is perfect unlike our prideful lusts. Thankfully, we can be filled with the Holy Spirit and learn how to hate and love properly. Amen, -------------------------------------- These verses might seem to contradict each other but they do not if they are put in proper context. John 3:16 (Geneva) For God so loveth the world, that he hath given his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in Him, should not perish, but have everlasting life. 1 John 2:15 (Geneva) Love not this world, neither the things that are in this world. If any man love this world, the love of the father is not in him. ------------------------------------------------------------------------- If God really hated the world as we think of hate than he wouldn't have commissioned us to preach the gosple. Matthew 27:46 (Geneva) And about the ninth hour Jesus cried with a loud voice, saying, Eli, Eli, lama sabachthani? That is , My God, my God, why hast thou forsaken me? We could atleast all agree that God loved Jesus. God prepared Jesus to die on the cross and overcome death, hell and the grave. He wants all men and women to do likewise.

It would seem to me that the hatred spoken of in Ps. 5:5 is an abhorrence, which is of the emotions. God emotionally abhors all sinners, he does not delight in the moral character of any sinners. The word of hatred in Ps. 5:5 is "sane;" and it means "odious". The wicked are odious to the Lord, He is righteously disgusted with their moral characters, he takes no emotional pleasure in sinners because of their conduct.
While Jn. 3:16 is a love which is synonymous with good-will towards men, that God wills the highest good of all men. God wants all men to be saved, he does not delight in the death of the wicked.
So Ps 5:5 is a hatred of emotions, John 3:16 is a love of the will. Ps 5:5 is according to character, John 3:16 is according to value.
In this sense, I love and hate sinners. I love them in the sense that I will their good, and I hate them in the sense that they are abhorrent to me. The bible says that the righteous are an abomination to the wicked and the wicked are an abomination to the righteous (Prov 29:27).
God loves all sinners [wills their good] while at the same time he hates or abhors them [emotionally disgusted] Love of the will and hatred of the emotions can in fact co-exist.
Other times, love too is spoken of as emotional. That is, love is spoken of as emotional enjoyment or delight. Even in English, we say that we love a certain type of food or place. That type of love is enjoyment, delight, or pleasure. If I love pizza, it means I take enjoyment, delight, or pleasure in it. But if I hate roast beef, it means I do not take any delight, pleasure, or enjoyment in it.
Consider also this scripture:
Pro 15:9 "The way of the wicked is an [emotional] abomination unto the Lord: but he [emotionally] loveth him that followeth after righteousness." In this sense, abomination or hatred is disgust, while love is emotional delight or enjoyment.

So Ps 5:5 is a hatred of emotions, John 3:16 is a love of the will. Ps 5:5 is according to character, John 3:16 is according to value. Amen, I agree. We are all made in the image of God and just like God we have a will and emotions. We want to see them saved (will) but emotionally they grieve us. I forgot to add that if we want to see them saved we should not use words like "f*gs". Homosexual or sodomite is ok though but in love. ~ Pillsbury dough child lol!!! ;D just a little humor

A friend of mine who was in college in the sixties/seventies explained the homosexual activitivists came up with the acronym: GAY which meant Good As You. This of course was to be directed at all the preachers who were condemning such behaviour. So, our culture has turned from calling them fags to gay people. The label is really beside the point; they are in direct rebellion against a holy God who has designed sex to in the confines of marriage and with one man and one woman. Should the government try and control that, no way! But, if Christians would call the worldlings to repentance in Christ, they would be converted and give up their sins.
