The Bible Prohibited in Colorado Today's Program - Thursday, June 5, 2008 - Generations with Vision The Bible Prohibited in Colorado Senate Bill 200 After 400 years of religious freedom for those who wanted to own and distribute Bibles on their own property in America, the Governor of Colorado has put an end to it. SB08-200, signed into law last week will prohibit the issuing, circulating, and distributing of Leviticus 20:13. While churches are exempted for now, Christian schools, Christian book stores, private business, etc. are not. Will we avoid a persecution against Christians at the hands of committed humanists in the next 40 years? While their may be a short term persecution, Kevin Swanson suggests that there may be a hope for faith, family, and freedom yet, at least for our grandchildren. website: www.generationswithvision.com/

Ritter signs controversial anti-discrimination bill By John Ingold The Denver Post
Article Last Updated: 05/29/2008 06:22:44 PM MDT
Gov. Bill Ritter today quietly signed a controversial bill expanding the prohibition of sexual-orientation-based discrimination, over the vocal opposition of conservative Christian groups like Focus on the Family.
The bill bans discrimination based on a person's religious belief or sexual orientation - including transgender people - in places of public accommodation, housing practices, family planning services and 20 other public spheres. Such prohibitions are already in place with regard to race.
"I think it's a step in the right direction for Coloradans and civil rights," said Sen. Jennifer Veiga, a Denver Democrat who sponsored the bill.
Ritter signed Senate Bill 200 this afternoon in his office, without any of the public ceremonies and news releases that came with six other bills he signed today. His spokesman, Evan Dreyer, said the governor was not deliberately trying to keep the signing quiet. In all, Ritter signed 20 bills today, Dreyer said.
"There were hundreds and hundreds of bills that were passed by the legislature this year," Dreyer said. "We do many ceremonies and many announcements, but in reality we do just a fraction."
But no bill this year has seen the kind of heated post-session attacks that SB 200 has. Focus on the Family launched radio ads and a media campaign urging Ritter to veto the bill.
"The state legislature here in Colorado has frankly become just about as radical and extreme as the California Legislature, in an effort that was designed to obviously appease the homosexual community give access to all public restrooms by people of the opposite gender," Focus on the Family founder James Dobson said Wednesday on his regular radio broadcast, according to an online newsletter from the organization sent out later that day.
Opponents said the bill would have serious consequences, such as opening up Colorado public restrooms and locker rooms to all genders and transgender people, exposing children and women to sexual predators.
Dreyer said opponents were running a campaign of misinformation.
"The claims that are made in this campaign are not based in fact. They are based in fear," Dreyer said.
"All this does," Dreyer added, "is it brings across-the-board consistency to existing anti-discrimination laws."
Bruce DeBoskey, the regional director of the Anti-Defamation League, said the opposition's claims were exaggerated and applauded the signing.
"We think this is another important step in making Colorado safe and inclusive and welcoming to all those who live there," he said. ---------------------------------------------------------------- The following is taken from the bill:
SECTION 8. 24-34-701. Publishing of discriminative matter forbidden. No person, being the owner, lessee, proprietor, manager, superintendent, agent, or employee of any place of public accommodation... shall publish, issue, circulate, send, distribute, give away, or display in any way, manner, or shape or by any means or method, except as provided in this section, any communication, paper, poster, folder, manuscript, book, pamphlet, writing, print, letter, notice, or advertisement of any kind, nature, or description THAT is intended or calculated to discriminate or actually discriminates against... SEXUAL ORIENTATION, marital status... in the matter of furnishing or neglecting or refusing to furnish to them or any one of them any lodging, housing, schooling, or tuition or any accommodation, right [marriage], privilege [adoption], advantage, or convenience... on account of... SEXUAL ORIENTATION, marital status... [which] is unwelcome or objectionable or not acceptable, desired, or solicited. ________________________________________________
This would prohibit Bibles with verses like Leviticus 20:13.
"If a man also lie with mankind, as he lieth with a woman, both of them have committed an abomination: they shall surely be put to death; their blood shall be upon them."

While a homosexual may not start out or ever become a sexual predator, he/she is a sexual deviant, and depravity always leads to deeper depravity. It is extremely unwise and negligent to allow a person who defines their entire state of being on their sexual preference access to places of privacy like locker rooms and bathrooms. A man like Governor, God bless his position, who uses his authority to pass a piece of foolhardy legislation which entirely lacks common sense in order to cater to the loudmouthed minority is going to face a mighty day of Judgment. I agree that we should not discriminate against a homosexual like the days of segregation. We shouldn't have "gay bathrooms" or "gay restaurants" or "homo public schools" but to pass pieces of legislation like this is NOT granting EQUAL rights, but EXTRA rights. Some exclucivity is GOOD! It is a GOOD things for a woman to be comfortable in a restroom to take care of private needs without worrying if some man living by his sexual impulses is going to freely wander in. It is GOOD for girls in all girl schools to not worry about some "confused" teenage boy sleeping in the same dorm room! IF we were to employ common sense (GOD FORBID! ) would this mean that I can have access to female bathrooms and locker rooms? If I were a kid, could I be enrolled in an all girl school? Could I use the women's dressing rooms at stores? Based in fact AND FEAR! Yes! We should fear for our neighbors! We should fear for the well being of women and girls! We should fear for the LGBT people! We should fear for our legislators. We should fear for those who do not fear the Lord.

So if I understand this correctly, people cannot pass out Bibles unless they are on Church property? And that even means that Christian book stores, or even Barnes & Noble, cannot legally sell Bibles that have the book of Leviticus in it?

I guess, the best way to put it is the laws are on the books; who will be the first to try an put teeth behind it and enforce, and what will be the outcry. [There are many laws on the books that are not enforced or even given any thought]

[There are many laws on the books that are not enforced or even given any thought] Yeah, that's what I'm wondering. Will they really enforce this? Will groups like Focus on the Family really obey this? I doubt so in both cases...
